          • Oh to have taken ND's #25 spot last week. They got a four spot bump today, while we got effectively a one spot bump.

Oh well, still nice to be back in the T25. I'd be real surprised if we're not in every poll from now until the end of next season, at a minimum.

            • This is now the 6th straight season in which we have been ranked in the AP Poll, tying a WSU record (originally set in the stretch from 1960-61 - 1965-66). The third longest streak was 4 straight seasons from 1980-81 - 1983-84.

Amazing accomplishment and looking forward to shattering the record next season. Keep it rolling Shockers!

Yet UNI fans think they have a program that parallels WSU's....umm not!

At this point, it would seem that WSU will start in next year's top 25 almost regardless of how this season finishes.

Then again, I said Trump couldn't win, and the AP voters are even dumber than the U.S. electorate.

Hardest part is getting in. After that, barring a loss we stay on those pollsters ballots and become the logical addition to others when they need to fill the bottom of theirs

Yep I would be surprised if we aren't preseason Top 25 next year barring unforeseen injuries/departures. The future is incredibly bright.

Because this year we will make the Sweet 16 and then return the entire team. We will spend all of next season in the top 25 and be on the bubble with Jerry Palm before the 2018 dance.

                          • Here is the breakdown of the bottom of the AP Poll and the unranked teams receiving the most votes:

                            23. Creighton - 178
                            24. Maryland - 159
                            25. Wichita State - 153

                            26. VCU - 39
                            27. Northwestern - 25
                            28. Iowa State - 22
                            29. South Carolina - 12

The gap between 25 and 26 is enormous.

                            • So there's a blanket over #23 through #25, a big gap up to #22, and a big gap down to #26. As long as WSU wins this week's two, they won't move out, which is the nice thing about getting in -- you usually have to drop out on your own rather than being jumoed.

Looking ahead, Maryland's remaining regular season schedule is pretty favorable, but Creighton has a couple of likely losses looming.

I like your optimism, but if the ending and returning talent of the 12-13 and 13-14 seasons didn't get us in the preseason T10, we're going to have move mountains in the tourney this year to make that anything close to a realistic hope.
