  • Maryland has 4 games remaining. They are the favorite, but by only single digits, in each game. Zero chances to make a big splash with a monster win (none of the 4 opponents are in the top 25 themselves). 4 chances to drop a game they were favored in.

I think the Shox pass Maryland either next week or the week after.

    • According to the new AP poll, it seems as thought Illinois State is not receiving any votes. As in, none.

Vermont, Middle Tennessee and Monmouth, however, are receiving votes.

At this point, given what remains on the schedule, I don't know if it's going to be possible for the Burds to get ranked or even earn significant votes by the end of the year... even if they win Arch Madness. They are probably on the wrong side of the bubble if they don't win Arch Madness.

      • Jeff *******.. An AP poll voter flat out admitting he doesn't watch WSU due to who we play.

"@shox:_KCfan @RyanSaindon @espn sorry but not watching Wichita state-northern Iowa for more than a few minutes when better games on TV."

That's alright. He will watch plenty of WSU basketball in the NCAA tournament.

We're beating the hell out of our conference mates on such a scale that the games are unwatchable, and there are therefore less eyeballs on our program. What a strange problem to have.

Dear AAC, MWC, and (maybe) A10, we're patiently waiting:

It is definitely odd. People are not watching the game because they know WSU will win and it's a foregone conclusion, yet they aren't sure if we are any good...

ISUr would be MVC co-champs, 26-6, and a forecasted RPI of 29 should they next lose to WSU on Sunday in St. Louis. While I clearly think WSU is in better shape to be able to afford a loss in that game, should ISUr make it there and then lose, they would be a tough team for the committee to leave out.

At this point, I agree. You take any of those if invited.

The MVC is a 4 engine prop plane with a fuel line leak.

My point is really not that they aren't a tournament team idealistically. My point is that, given what we continue to see each year, they are in serious risk territory...and it would be a legitimate "snub" type situation. But I just don't have complete faith that 26-6 with and RPI of 29 will actually get in since they reside in the MVC. They are 23-5, with a solid RPI and receiving zero votes. That indicates to me that they are perceived like an MVC team that no one has heard of, rather than as the #30 team in the nation. If they were being viewed correctly, they would be at least receiving one vote.

If I chose the field, they would absolutely be in.

                      Four engine?

We're a twin, with one side that gets replaced every year with whatever remanufacturered engine is the cheapest at the time.

                        • ^^^^ I was typing the same thought. Damn, you fast @SHOCKvalue:.
One quick note before we present the rankings: With Wichita State’s move to the American Athletic Conference, the Shockers have moved out of the mid-major club. We wish the Shockers well against Cincinnati, UConn, SMU, and more.
