The physical security had too much fortification. ;). Hope you're in OKC enjoying the game. It's cold here, but I was able to go for a 25+ mile ride on my bike today. I'm watching the game at home. I'm warming up and looking at my two bottles of artisan Peket thinking it's about time for a shot. The Belgian trade delegation was giving them away. I have over a liter. 70 proof. Sort of like gin without the bitter aftertaste.

Bah! Did you at least wink at her and blow her a little kiss? I mean anything?! A princess! Wait, she is legal age right? I guess I never established her age.

          • Should be a good jump in votes received tomorrow, although I am guessing we are still 2-3 weeks away from entering the rankings (if we can take care of business).

A win on Saturday will give us some serious momentum with the voters.

So that accounts for the polls.
Funny. I thought 10-0 vs 9-2 accounted for the polls.

"• The sneaky good win of the weekend was Wichita State’s 76–73 victory over Oklahoma. The game was played in Oklahoma City, not Norman, but it still came in a road environment against a pretty good team. Gregg Marshall has established a marvelous culture at Wichita State, which is allowing his team to weather the losses of Fred VanVleet and Ron Baker reasonably well....

I rewarded Wichita State for that win in Oklahoma, and I felt compelled to recognize Notre Dame for playing Villanova so tough in what looked like a de facto road environment in Newark. That was the Irish’s first loss of the season, but their biggest wins have come by over Colorado and Northwestern (neutral) and Iowa (home). So their case to be ranked is hardly open-and-shut."

No one would dispute that Creighton deserves to be ranked higher at this point, and even the latest KenPom numbers have Creighton an inch ahead (I just looked: they're 17th, WSU 18th). But 10-0 vs. 9-2 doesn't account for the gulf between 10th and 35th / 39th (last week) That's where the narrative I described comes in, and you're being silly and snarky -- I know, imagine that -- to ignore it. And this after i did you a favor and caused someone to say something nice about you.

I'll take the KenPom relative comparison of the two teams over the JH4P / pollster comparison any day.

I have a feeling that JH4P didn't actually put much stock in the losses column, but just pointing out the cognitive dissonance that happens here sometimes when we rail about "good losses" and how we feel under-rated with lower loss totals. But that's just how I read it.

I understand some take shots at JH4P whenever the occasion arises, but why do it when you cannot substantiate your position.

Polls are not analytical and are biased to start with. He said nothing incorrect about how pollsters are going to vote.

Preseason, CU was 22/23 in the polls. We were 34/37 because many felt we would have a problem recovering from the loss of Fred and Ron. So, there already was a good gap of 12 to 14 to start the season. Since that time, CU beat a ranked (and still ranked) team and we lost to 2 ranked teams. Our best win has come against an OU team that was ranked (vote-wise) the same or less than us at the time we beat them. I was a little surprised that we were ranked ahead of Michigan St in both polls last week. Not that we shouldn't be, but then, we should have also beat them.

rpiforecast.com also does a Live-Rpi. Currently, CU is #3 and we are #63. Gee, go figure.
