I just called the OU ticket office. According to him they are still working with WSU and Chesapeke Arena to determine how to handle the ticket situation. He took my number and will call me back when he has more information. I asked if he thought I should hold off ordering through ticketmaster and he said yes, he thinks the seats he can get me will be better than what's on ticket master.

"We decided to start selling tickets to a 15k seat arena without first thinking about how to sell any tickets"

Perhaps the unfriendly people at the WSU ticket office are just tired of dealing with that kind of nice stupidity.

Just going to buy a cheap upper bowl ticket and go sit as close as i can in the lower bowl in one of the hundreds of empty seats. problem solved.

Only 27 seats remaining in the upper bowl per the seating map on Ticketmaster, and all but 10 of those remaining are scattered singles.

          The organizers really fumbled this.

The last time OU played this event was in December of 2012 against Texas A&M. OU and TAMU fans combined to fill a grand total of 3,444 seats out of the 18,203 available in Chesapeake Energy Arena.

From what I can tell, this "Oklahoma City All College Classic" didn't even take place last year, for lack of demand and willing participants.

What in the world is going on here with the tickets this year?

Perhaps you work at the WSU ticket office. You seem to have the same attitude.

Umm.... This makes the ticket situation for the game at Intrust Bank Arena look a little better doesn't it?

Its really not that difficult. You set aside X number of tickets for each school. If it is included in the season ticket package, you take that into account. At that point you make the rest of the tickets available to the public on a first come first served basis. I don't quite understand allowing WSU 300 tickets (which it has to be in excess of that for me to have gotten tickets, I'm not a big $$ donor by any stretch) + OU allotment has resulted in only the upper 300 level being available to the public at the open of business today. They purposely have restricted public sale to the 300 level, for some reason. Not like this game hasn't been announced for quite some time, pretty sure they have had time to do any sort of pre-sale necessary. I will happily eat crow when on Dec 10 I am inside a mostly sold out and jam packed arena watching the game. Until then, I will say this has been handled almost as poorly as last years 'secret passwords' for pre-sale downtown. But hey, at least that was an attempt at it.

I can understand the frustration if everything I'm reading here is true, but I've gotta say, every dealing I've had with the WSU ticket office has been with someone that was pleasant and as helpful as possible.

If you have ever worked in a retail like position with the general public .. you know how this morning went. A bunch of people calling to complain about something you have zero control over. Then they get mad when you give them an answer they don't like and immediately start calling you out for being "unfriendly" when you are doing everything in your power to help them. (not calling anyone out specifically on here). Over the course of multiple calls/interactions .. that can wear on a person.

I also agree .. every interaction I've had with them has been extremely helpful.

                          • Tbh, I think this is more about keeping this from being a WSU game than anything else. OU doesn't need the money.

                            • So the consensus I'm getting is I should probably call the OU ticket office before bothering going down to the arena box office because the available upper bowl seats might already be gone? Ugh

                              • Called OU ticket office. Just told me the only thing they are selling are to season ticket holders, and not to the public. Said they would be in contact with Chesapeake Arena about possible other tickets, and referred me to their site and said they were selling tickets currently. I told him I didn't want 300 level seating, that's all they had, and he said they'd have more info on the website if they would be selling anything to the public.
