Well, it has been underwhelming, that part is true.

Honestly if the season truly hinged on Frankamp (which it obviously doesn't, but he will have a big effect on the outcome) and that meant that he was putting up as many shots a game as possible, I would actually feel pretty good about our offense.

I don't think the author understands the definition of plethora, or maybe just liked using big words. When I think of Conner, I don't think of a "plethora" of off the court issues. The kid has a DUI, that has been discussed ad nauseam on here, and many places around the web. Other than that, I can't think of anything that is an "off the court issue." If he wants to lump his KU experience as an off the court issue because he wasn't happy with his playing time, then so be it. But the author basically sums up his experience at KU as not liking being a back up behind Mason etc. when it leaves out the story that Conner committed to KU prior to his junior year of HS, and then over 2 years later, the NBA Rookie of the Year decided to go to KU. If Conner had known he'd be playing behind a once in a decade type player, I'd put money on CF not going to KU.

I think Conner's success or lack there of will be a factor in this year's team's success, I don't think it defines it. I'm excited to see Conner quiet some of the doubters, and flourish as an upperclassman.

If I had a player on the roster that I felt the overall success of the team weights heavily on, it is Shaq and/or Willis. Shaq has every single tangible factor to be a dominant force in not just the MVC, but across the NCAA imo. It just depends if he can stay on the court and out of foul trouble. If Willis can translate his athleticism and tenacity for rebounds to the D-1 level, it will take some pressure of Shaq to stay on the floor, but holy hell if there is a way for Shaq to commit fewer fouls and Willis to make an impact, that's going to be a NASTY duo for any team in the Valley to handle. Oh, and we'll have that duo for two years.

Well put. Our toughest competitors in the Valley this year, N. Iowa & Ill. St., minimum, have multiple front court options that we'll have to be able to match up with, to get where we want to go. It won't be as easy as it's been, obviously.

I believe the Valley gave the impression of being over-matched the last several years because we were just that good. Time for the guys to dig in (pun intended) and hit the boards like their hair's on fire.

OH man, I surely would have figured that the hand speed from swiping a dog away from Perry, would have translated to D-1 defense in steals, but it just hasn't happened.
