Vandy and KSU were #34 and #29 respectively in KenPom.

Pick on USC (KenPom #61, 4-7 vs A's, 1-2 vs B's, 8 single digit victories vs non A's & B's) if you really want to pick on someone who didn't belong.

True enough, but I figured 15 losses and a sub-0.500 conference record were sufficient enough reasons for exclusion.

I think Vandy finished 10-8 in conference. They also played a decent non con schedule so I can't complain too much even though I would prefer that 15 loss teams get left out.

Certainly they did attempt to schedule up.

I think he meant 15 loss = Vandy, sub-0.500 = KSU.

I agree, their resumes weren't super impressive, but giving USC's spot to ISUr would be my main gripe about the field of 68. After making that swap, I'm not sure I could find another team from the NIT worthy of taking Vandy or KSU's spot. I'd keep them in.

Most of my gripes are how the field was seeded, not who was selected.
