Expected schmexpected. If you're a 1 or 2 seed, your first game is a bye. #1 seeds are 124-0 against #16 seeds. #2 seeds are 7-117. A 1 seed IS a bye. A 2 seed is all but a bye.

Eliminate the #1 and #2 first round games and BS is 22-12 (I think, it's early) in the dance. Still solid.

Since 2007, KU is 9-7 against single digit seeds, consistently as a 1/2 seed. Anyway, this is my last post on the subject, sorry to all for starting this arguement.

Your data is incorrect. Since 2007 KU is 11-7 vs single digit seeds. If that is "the most consistently overrated team in the tourney" as you tried to claim, you clearly have completely unfair expectations.

vs 10-14 seeds: 7-2
vs 5-9 seeds: 5-2
vs 1-4 seeds: 6-5

Those numbers are very much in line with expectations for a high seed. Some of you really have lost your minds due to an inability to keep your KU hatred in perspective.

Because that is what is heard. A little less so nationally, but certainly around these parts. And when they continually fail to live up to those standards, you bet your ass people are going to let them hear about it.

All I've argued is that KU has performed on par with expectations based on seed. If someone wants to claim that KU was expected to be the "greatest team ever assembled", even in years where they didn't even receive a 1 seed, then that is a dumb rabbit trail I have no interest pursuing.

My dislike for KU doesn't mean I have any desire to promote false narratives about them. I couldn't care less if I appeal to hate based internet posters whom I've never met. Level headed readers of my posts get information, and sometimes they provide quality counter arguments to help me refine my views. Emotional goobers who just want to trash talk give me some enjoyable comedic relief along the way.

KU has a good history. They are only slightly below average at tournament time when compared to other teams receiving the same seeding over the last decade. WSU has been better the last four years (statistically). I think that's all been pretty well established by JH4P's and other's stats. I'd actually love to see the MVC vs. KU tourney stats for the last ten years or so if anyone has those, and maybe even B12-2 vs. MVC tourney stats during the same time. Could be interesting. Also looking forward to see where both teams are next year. I think we will still be damn good, and I really don't know about them. Will they be pretty much the same team just minus Perry, or will they lose any other contributors?
