"I not sure that I've ever been around a more competitive player or young man than Fred VanVleet. I like to win more than 99.9% of the people in this world, but he may top me." -- Gregg Marshall 12/23/13 :peaceful:
--------------------------------------- Remember when Nancy Pelosi said about Obamacare: "We have to pass it, to find out what's in it".
A physician called into a radio show and said: "That's the definition of a stool sample."
Just saw something on Twitter that was interesting. So our game at Illinois State is on Jan 14th, and their semester starts the 17th. Wonder how packed their gym will be?
Made me look at the start dates of our MVC bretheren that we play on the road around semester start ups. The other team we play on the road prior to their spring semester is UNI. We play at UNI on the 8th of Jan, their semester starts the 9th.

This is kind of off topic but for anyone that was thinking about going to St. Louis for the MVC tournament, Southwest currently has flights to St Louis for 49 bucks each way that weekend. So for less than 100 bucks round trip you could fly if you didn't feel like driving.

The cheap flight back home on Sunday won't work if we are playing in the Championship game. It leaves at 12:40pm.
Well, then buy the $49 flight there now and figure out what to do on the way home later. Or buy a Sunday trip back that accommodates a rare championship game appearance, and then if it doesn't work out or you get a chance later to get a cheap alternative, cancel the more expensive flight, get your "Ticketless Travel" $$ back and spend the money on a different flight.

I love SWA and its user-friendly change policies.
Back when I used to fly; those were the days my friends...

Good ol' WstateU -- when I referred to SWA's change policies, I wasn't talking about their wardrobe changes (however user-friendly they may have been way back when).

"Of course Long Beach State was disappointed to lose to Hawaii in the Big West Tournament finals. But it was especially disappointing because the 49ers had beaten Hawaii twice during the regular season. And the Rainbow Warriors lost only three regular season games so LBSU certainly had their number. But that loss pushed Long Beach State to the NIT. Reaching the NIT, without getting the automatic bid as the conference champions, is an accomplishment, but this year Coach Dan Monson and company will be eyeing a trip to the NCAAs...."

"Oklahoma State will want to forget the 2015-2016 campaign as quickly as possible. The Cowboys won just three Big 12 games. One of those games was against Kansas and many were close calls, but three wins is three wins. That cost Travis Ford his job and OSU went out and made a great hire with Coach Brad Underwood. He has done great things with Stephen F. Austin and there is very good reason for OSU fans to feel optimistic about the future. Getting Phil Forte III back for another go at his senior season helps too. Forte averaged 15.0 points per game back in 2014-2015 and missed all but three games last season. That was a big reason for the struggles of last season and Forte should become the program’s most prolific three-point shooter of all time...."
