If it's the feeling of most teams that Wichita State won't be as good next year or will be in a rebuilding year, it shouldm't be that hard to get a quality team in for the Intrust Bank Arena game.

It's always difficult to get a Top notch team to come to Wichita (IBA). It may be a little easier this year but still tough. But there is still time to do it and I'm very hopeful. Besides being difficult to find a good program who is willing to come to Wichita, our need for a home game has to match with their willingness/need for a road game next year.

Anyone know if an alumni package deal has been established to Nassau? Do we know
where team is staying? Any other helpful info for those interested in going?

I may be talking out of turn here, but I'd be amazed if they didn't stay at Atlantis. It's huge, it's kind of by itself (away from downtown Nassau, which is an armpit - be careful if you go down there) and they are the sponsors. I'm thinking (but I could be wrong) that the games will be played in the 'concert hall' which is used to book acts. It is one of the more touristy towers - expensive, but not exclusive and it is where the Casino is.

If not there, it will be at the luxury tower with the private beach (where Shaquille O'Neal and Jay-Z stay - rooms start at $1000 per night). They also have a casino there as well, but its more private and for the high-roller guests.

While it is marvelous to have the proven rep that it is extremely difficult to beat us on our home court, it is undoubtedly one of the major reasons quality teams do not want to schedule one and ones with us.

Then top that off with our tremendous record of road wins and it becomes obvious why the vast number of good teams want absolutely nothing to do with us.

I knew a k who alum that went to that tournament when they played there. Not a good review as in at that time they had to stay at Atlantis to get tickets for the games. Poor quality basketball venue and very expensive. I am saving my money for Maui the year after that.

My comments aren't directed at you but more at this logic which many people share:

This logic is crap! Wichita State has been a minimum Top 75 opponent for the last seven seasons...many times, much better than that. This everything-to-lose, nothing-to-gain garbage about Wichita State is annoying. It is impossible to win at Kansas and almost as impossible to beat Kansas at home...yet any team in America would gladly sign a home-and-home with Kansas.

I give no sympathy to a Power-5 school who misses the NCAA Tournament after having a 200-or-worse non-conference SOS. You obviously did not work very hard at scheduling. Even if you lose (God forbid!), you might actually learn something from playing Wichita State. The experience might make you tougher.

What do North Carolina and Virginia have in common this season? Both lost to a non-P5 school on the road...and both still got #1 seeds. Those losses obviously did not hurt them that much. Of anything, those losses could have been used to re-focus the team.

                    Sorry....rant over...

The problem is that the selection committee does reward the teams that sit at home and play a 300+ non-con SOS. Until that changes, a team like Pitt really is better off beating up on cupcakes at home and riding a 9th place league finish to the dance. It's a really good formula as long as the selection committee rewards it. Not only is it low-risk for the P5 team, but it eliminates all opportunities for good non-P5 teams, which leaves teams like WSU in the First Four, and St. Mary's and Valpo fighting it out in the NIT.

KU got an overall #1 seed this year and Indiana also advanced to the Sweet 16. Those programs survived.

then go to the Budurl.me/B4ASweeps link on facebook and fill out the requested information. I would give the direct link, but I couldn't get it to work correctly.

That pic makes us appear as the No.3 seed.

                            Just saying.

Question. Does anyone know for sure if the Battle 4 Atlantis is an all inclusive resort? I remember when the team played in Cancun that if you didn't stay at that resort, you were unable to attend the games. I'm looking at going and staying on Paradise Island but somewhere other than the Atlantis Resort. I want to make sure I can attend the games before booking. Thanks.
