The last time Wichita State didn't have either of those players the team made the NCAA tournament as a 5 seed.

I don't care what any one says, RKelly really disappointed in moments when we had momentum, he easily could have passed the ball back out at least three times, but played a little hero ball, almost felt like he wanted to get his moment to shine, either on a lazy drive to the bucket, trying to thunder slam a outback or basically just doing the right thing by getting the ball back to a ball handler, for a sophomore he really showed his lack of basketball IQ... Vent over, great season great seniors, great time to be a shocker

Wow just class and more class from the guys in the post-game interview (see other thread). Fred took full responsibility " to start the game Rodriguez just pretty much kicked my butt and outplayed me to give them a really good start".

I think RKelly plays out of control at times. He could be a much better player if he'd slow down a hair.

WSU is very good at proving they belong, even in losses. I doubt a single person in the country would say WSU was an 11 seed after watching these 3 games.

Well, except the selection committee. But at this point, I think we all know they're beyond saving.

The narrative for this season after Fred came back was simple and played out again today. The defense travels and keeps us in every single game. If we shoot a decent % from the field we will win, if we are seriously cold we likely lose. Against weaker teams we can overcome really poor shooting with points off turnovers, but against a team like Miami that's not gonna be enough. This team and these seniors make me really, really proud to be a WSU alumni. Class all the way to the end.

Next year could have some big changes like possible new conference, but for now I'm just going to enjoy the memories we were given by Fred and Ron.

In this game, the bad shooting was only part of the problem. What I really think lost it for us was the unforced turnovers.

Of the 14 turnovers, I would guess that at leave 5 were unforced. That would have given us 5 extra possessions. Now whether we would have made anything out of those 5 possessions is hard to say, but those unforced turnovers also gave Miami 4 or 5 easy baskets they wouldn't have had. That's 8-10 points right there even if we didn't make any baskets on the 5 extra possessions.
