I don't know how much you can read into the video, but I think the sentiment is the big thing. He loves it here. His family loves it here. He's not looking to leave and would only leave if it were PERFECT. The North Carolina job (assuming no sanctions) would be a perfect job. North Carolina does not rebuild, they reload. He could walk-in day one and compete for a championship. Fortunately the North Carolina job is not open right now. Oklahoma State is not a perfect job, it is a rebuilding job. Gregg Marshall is not going to spend his last 8-10 years coaching rebuilding a new program. Further, Oklahoma State is not the type of program where success is almost a given, like the N. Haha we aren't paying Underwood 3.3* million dollars. Marshall got paid 3.3 million after 4 consecutive tournament appearances, a final four, and Alabama offering nearly 4 million. Sure he'll get a pay raise, but K-State and Oklahoma State will also pay him handsomely. I hate to say it but we are in a mid-major conference. Exactly, it is the conference that makes you mid-major. Compare our revenues to the P5 schools though, it is lower. But if we moved to a power 5 conference, our revenues would explode! The mid-major title is due to conference affiliation. Our reputation is weightier than a mid-major, we are respected as a major program. But lest we forget what happened on Selection Sunday? We dominated our conference and barely squeaked into the tourney! That is the reality - our conference is a drag on our tournament chances. Coaches see that. Underwood lives that now. I'm not downplaying the strength of WSU's program - I am just simply being realistic that the Missouri Valley is a mid-major conference. And I am the loudest proponent that we have outgrown our conference, but as long as we are in the Missouri Valley, it's going to be hard steal hot coaching commodities from power 5 schools.Originally posted by SHOCKvalue View PostComment

Our MBB revenues are middle of the pack to top 1/3rd in the context to the AAC and MWC. I'd make a bet WSU basketball pulls in more cash flow than the bottom 1/4th to 1/3rd of the P5 schools.
