  • Sports Illustrated's David Gardner and Ted Keith examine how the Kentucky Wildcats and Wichita State Shockers were ousted in the second-round of the NCAA tournament.

    • Only 25% of S16 teams have faced a team seeded 6 or higher. (We faced 2). The perils of a low seed.

Edit: upon recount, appears to be only 3: Indiana, Gonzaga, and Wisconsin.

Tip of the hat to Northern Iowa’s seniors for going through that press conference. Cam Newton would’ve left about three different times.

I'm pretty sure Marshall would have declined an interview.
Marshall would have had at least one if not two timeouts remaining.

Remember when Nancy Pelosi said about Obamacare:
"We have to pass it, to find out what's in it".

A physician called into a radio show and said:
"That's the definition of a stool sample."

          • If you're a UNI fan what would you say? What could you say? It had to be like the entire crew of the USS Enterprise had their phasers set on stun and they fired in unison on the city of Cedar Falls. I guess they're lucky it wasn't the Death Star.

            • I had a play when I coached girls basketball called DEFCON 5, where if a girl was inbounding with no timeouts left and struggIing to get it in play I would yell DEFCON 5 whereupon the other four girls would run down the court and the ball handler would heave it as far as they could. There was still a 50/50 chance we would get the ball or at the very least it would go out of bounds along ways from the basket when someone touched it.

It almost always worked once and saved a game for us. If I used it more than once I had to change the play name

                • Here's a question: Would you rather lose like SFA, UNI, or Xavier did, or get blown out from start to finish? I think I'd rather get blown out...at least then there's no hope to be cruelly extinguished.

Blown out. Even X and SFA would be fine, UNI? That's therapy words.

                    • I thought the WSU comeback aginst ISUr was crazy, but this UNI thing makes that look like an everyday occurrence!

I feel safe to say that this we NEVER happen in college basketball again (especially in the NCAA tournament)

                      • That ESPN chart was saying >99% chance for UNI for much of the final minute. I wonder when it finally realized this was really happening and the >99% for UNI to win wasn't happening.

Considering it's never happened before, I bet it was short-circuiting some of their servers

It won't happen again due to the football "take a knee " play that was invented by the NYG vs Philly fumble TD. Teams will use UNI example when in this situation from here on out. We will even hear announcers saying "hey be careful here remember UNI"

A&M comeback was unreal, just watched - but what a phantom call on the layup to cut from 5 to 2
It always feels weird when I agree with Doug Gottlieb.
