I mean, you have to be in the Elite Eight to lose in the Elite Eight and without the cakewalk the committee gave them the first two rounds, they couldn't possibly have been in a position to lose this game."Cotton scared me - I left him alone." - B4MSU (Bear Nation poster) in reference to heckling players

Turns out that his best chance at a Final Four -- and who knows, maybe a championship? -- was in 2013 if he had been a Shocker, and his second best chance was probably this year if he had taken steps to graduate early and transfer to WSU for his final season of eligibility.
I'm delighted that Anton Grady got his NCAA tournament at last; he's a fine player and person, and I appreciate his efforts and courage for the Shocks this season. (Thanks, Anton, and best of luck to you in the future; I mean that sincerely.) But what would this team have been with Perry Ellis as a a graduate transfer instead? For one thing, probably still playing and on its way to Houston... Instead, what is it about The Flagship in the tournament when they face someone who's tougher than they are? That didn't work very well for them last year either, did it?

2016- 3-1
WSU Basketball, NCAA tournament record (9-4):
2013- 4-1
2014- 1-1
2015- 2-1
2016- 2-1
I can only imagine how much better our record would have been if we had only had Perry on our team, especially this year.

Someone other than KU made it to a final 4.
The Big 12 underperformed, period. 70% of their conference made the tournament and mostly given preferential seeds. The lowest they were seeded was an eight. Therefore, if the Big 12 played up to presumed expectations, every school would have won their opening round...didn't happen. As a three seed and losing in the opening round, W. Virginia totally exposed the Big 12. Kansas, projected by seed into the Final Four, was given a cake walk to the Elite Eight... And lost that game. With the exception of Oklahoma, a two seed making the Final Four, every other team played to, or below expectation based on seeding.
At least they didn't choke as badly as the Pac.There are three rules that I live by: never get less than twelve hours sleep; never play cards with a guy who has the same first name as a city; and never get involved with a woman with a tattoo of a dagger on her body. Now you stick to that, and everything else is cream cheese.

Underachievement
"Consider these two stats:
► In the last eight years, the Jayhawks have been a No. 1, No. 2, No. 2, No. 1, No. 2, No. 1, No. 1 and No. 3 seed in the NCAA tournament. And they only turned those great regular season résumés into one Final Four run.
► Kansas' loss to Villanova was Bill Self's ninth NCAA tournament loss as the higher seed, tied with Mike Krzyzewski for the most since 2004, Self's first season with KU."

I might bet that OU is the only team to play above their seed in 5 years."When life hands you lemons, make lemonade." Better have some sugar and water too, or else your lemonade will suck!

Self is to blame for a lot of Perry's issue last night. Refusal to run plays for him in the high post or facing the basket never unclogged the inside game.
Not that I'm upset about it, but these KU hacks running him down for choking need to look at Toupee Bill
