I have always had an objection to the media obligations of amateur players after losses. It's one thing to have to answer questions professionally during an emotionally situation when you are a professional, but to have those same types of obligations as an amateur seems over the line to me, and has for a number of years.“I don’t believe in statistics. Now, members of the media acting like jerks? Yeah, that's bad. However, in terms of the pure obligation for student athletes to answer questions (assuming they are respectful questions), I see no problem.
