Basically, the committee has stated that a conference tournament winner means more than a regular season winner. Don't get me wrong, I hope UNI crushes Texas. But we should not be an 11 seed, and one that has to play an extra game at that.

Well, at least the extra game will give us a chance to get our outside shooting figured out.

The Shocks play best when they are the hunters, not the hunted. I can see a Sweet 16, Elite 8 run. Of course I have been writing those checks in May & June since 1998 so I am a glass is half full kinda guy but it is better that they are the hunters.

So UNI is now WSU's equal.

Being an 11 like WSU doesn't mean the committee thinks they are WSU's equal. After last at-large, you start seeing big jumps. Committee could have thought WSU is 46th best team in the country, UNI the 65th best, but nobody in between received auto bid, therefore UNI lands right behind WSU on S-Curve and gets the same 11 seed without the play-in game.

Got no problem with them being ahead of WU.

WSU and UNI look pretty equal to me Jamar.

1) No Willie, UNI wasn't ahead of WSU. WSU came in 43, UNI 46.
2) Fever, I already explained to you how close on the S-Curve doesn't have to mean close overall. Let me spell it out for you.

43 WSU - atlarge
44 Gonzaga - auto
45 Tulsa - atlarge (last in)
46 UNI - auto (best S-curve spot of the "undeserving autos", RPI 70, KenPom 76)
47 Chattanooga - auto (RPI 50, KenPom 107)

UNI at 46 wouldn't have received a bid without winning the MVC tourney. UNI was simply the best of the "undeserving" teams from 11 all the way through 16 seeds. St. Mary's, Monmouth, Valpo, San Diego St., Florida, South Carolina, St. Bonaventure, and potentially another DOZEN other teams could have easily been ahead of UNI. For all we know, if the committee ranked the top 100, it was WSU 43, UNI 65, Chattanooga 75, and so on.

I propose that they eliminate the selection reveal show. I know, I know, there is a lot of money there. To replace that, I think they should have a live feed of the committee the entire time they are creating the bracket. If they are truly creating a fair bracket, there should be nothing to hide. With how obsessed the U.S. Is with reality shows, I wouldn't be surprised if that actually made more money with an online stream.

Realistically, they will never do that because they don't want the public to hear their discussions

i don't think having to play the extra game is a bad deal either. By Tuesday, we won't have played in 10 days. It'll be good to have the "tune-up game" vs. Vandy before playing a tougher opponent.
