  • Loyola came out and looked like the fresh team that had yet to play and Shox were just flat. My brother and I thought they'd come out in the second half and put them away but our boys let the Ramblers hang which just seemed to feed their confidence. Was surrounded by SIU fans all of whom were rooting for Shox. Turns out, we needed the extra support.

I was a little worried my first trip to the Lou was a jinx. Glad to say that wasn't the case today. But boy, we need to play much better tomorrow.

        • Just watched the video and SHOX #WonUgly but what the heck winning is winning. FVV picked a good time to have a bad day. Sucks for the rest of the Valley. We survived the quicksand that is Loyola.

On a side note, if you want to hate this two bit league a bit more, go watch the first shot clock issue. Elgin starts talking with animated gestures back at the WSU coaches (albeit indirectly) after the first table issue. What a dip spit.
I was wondering if anyone else saw that. He really looked pissed off at Marshall. Of course, it did look like 3G might have said somethimg to him as well.

              • We played bad because someone at Fox got cute and ranked us 23rd....

Every time we've been ranked we lose.

But ha!!! Jokes on you, we won! Coaches poll don't count.

                • This subject probably has been discussed, but on the 2 three ball shots, where the shooter was clearly bumped, how in the hell is a foul not called?

I think Brown shot the first one and Baker the second one.

                    • We escaped an ambush today. Foul trouble to three starters and turnovers almost doomed our season. Fred wasn't Fred today, he never seemed to get in a rhythm but he did hit some big freethrows down the stretch. Baker was a stud, came in and saved the day and Morris came up big time over the last 6 minutes, blocking shots and rebounding, just taking over the paint. You have to give Loyola credit, when they got down 12 they didnt cave in, we didn't help our selves, but still the Ramblers were hitting a ton of threes the second half to put us in dire straights. After Rons miraculous three ( in which he was fouled ) our defense just stifled them to help us pull the game from the jaws of defeat. First games are always nerve racking, all the games today have been pretty close and fun to watch. I expect us too be more relaxed and take it to UNI.

JUst got a chance to sit down and "really" watch it. My son walked by at the same time (the baker shot) and asked how the hell that wasnt an and 1

Yeah, earlier in the day we decided it would be easier to unify electromagnetism and gravity, than to answer that question.

The game actually turned when I playfully cast an Imobulus spell on the Ramblers with 5:55 remaining in the game. Who knew?

                              • This link will take you to an ESPN web page, which depicts a shot chart for the game. I have never noticed this feature before and I am on the ESPN site every day.

Game summary of the Wichita State Shockers vs. Loyola Chicago Ramblers NCAAM game, final score 66-58, from March 4, 2016 on ESPN.

Notice that you may view a composite shot chart for all players or you may customize the chart for an individual player.

Too bad a turnover over chart is not offered. Grady's chart would be a sight to see.
