For the record, if Felder can lead the country in points in assists, I would not have a problem with him winning it. I rail on people only looking at stats sometimes, but that is Xavier McDaniel level cool right there.

Amen. I started this project to evaluate Points generated and that might be points scored plus assists times 2.xx. I'm not sure waht the "xx" shouold be that would take into account assists on three-point shots, so I just used 2.00 in the calculation below. should also include some portion of steals. I thought about using the team's points per possession, but then some of those steals would be double-dipping with either points or assists, so I decided not to account for that.

        Player Pts+2*Ast
        Kay Felder 46.7
        Kris Dunn 37.4
        Fred VanVleet 36.2
        Kyle Collingsworth 35.6
        Yogi Ferrel 34.1
        Gary Payton II 32.7
        Melo Trmble 31.6
        Ytyler Ulis 31.5
        Monte Morris 31.1
        Demetrius Jackson 30.8
        Nic Moore 30.0

Just for kicks, I looked at Fred's assists for 2-pt and 3-pt baskets. He has 41 for 3 and 60 for 2, an average of 2.405 pts generated per assist.
