Bubble teams like Temple or Tulsa could (potentially) be ahead of WSU if they win today and tomorrow. That's quite a threat too.

A conference like the Valley can have a much better RPI without having several top 50 teams. Look at the MAC: 12 teams. 1 top 50, 1 50-100, however, they have only 1 200+ (at 201 by the way). WSU is holding it's end up, but the Valley has four teams with worse RPIs than the 12th place team in the MAC, 2 in the mid 200s and 2 in the 300s. That's almost half the conference dragging the rest down hard.

As for IN St, they would have more teams ahead of them in the MAC than they do in the Valley, 8 of 10 teams ahead of them in the Colonial, 7 in the AAC, and 10 in the Atlantic 10 (14). So I guess maybe they should do more soul searching than worrying about what WSU fans think, particularly when WSU fans are correct!

It that was our one shining moment I'd say we stumbled as well.

        • ESPN was talking bubble after the Michigan win and WSU wasn't mentioned as Last 4 out or Last 4 in.

There were at least 11 teams closer to the bubble than WSU as of this morning according to Lunardi. Even with a bad day today the worst you will see is WSU in the "last 4 byes", meaning #s 5-8 from the bubble. I think Joe is a tad high on the Shox, but I agree they are better off than the last 4 in.

                    • The Ivy League will no longer be the only Division I conference without a conference tournament, as it announced that a four-team bracket to determine its NCAA tournament bid will start in 2017.

While the risk for bid stealing is low with this conference I think the move is depressing. For them to claim this "showcases" their league seem ridiculous. Who isn't aware of the Ivy League schools that can a) attend academically and b) pick them for their basketball prowess?

                      • As of 5pm Friday...

I didn’t obsess over every last detail of the order of this list as much as simply making sure I had every relevant team accounted for. The order should still be close, but my main point is that WSU is safe regardless of the occasional outcome like Michigan beating Indiana today.

                        Team Still Playing? Comments

WSU fans are more fed up with having to admit it and say it then he is of having to hear it. Besides the loudest voices in that chorus aren't the WSU fans but the college basketball pundits and bracketologists who are shouting loudly that WSU doesn't have a good enough resume (primarily because of their Valley schedule) to get an at-large bid. In this case, if the glove fits you must convict.

Not to beat a dead horse, but on the podcast somone on here linked yesterday for Mike & Mike discussing the selection process with the OU AD made me pause.

At about the 10 minute mark (and I haven't went back and double-checked) he mentions a new metric that the commision developed concerning a "strength of conference schedule"? I didn't like the sound of that. Anybody hear that besides me?
