QT is the best convenience store chain in the nation and it really isn’t even close. They would win the NACS (National Association of Convenience Stores) best convenience store chain award annually, however they tend to pass the award around. Believe me, “nobody does it better”… they are simply the best at what they do. Chester Cadieux did it right. "Ain't that right Lamar, ruff!"

With a little tweak, this could be QT’s theme song…

Last time I used my QT gas discount, my full tank (14.5 gallons or so) cost me $2.70 total. I love the QT rewards.

If you disagree with the funding and effort part, then I have no idea how.
Sorry, I should have clarified. I certainly do wish all the Valley cared to put more money into basketball. I think that is an even wilder dream than hoping for a BE invite.

The part I disagree with is this: "Two teams in, both with a chance to get out of the first weekend with the right match-ups could be a big help to the P5/public view of the MVC." Essentially, for the last 2 decades the MVC has sent teams consistently that can and HAVE done damage in the NCAA tournament. There is no reason to think continuing to do so will change any perception of the Valley.

I like QT a lot. I think they are the best convenience/gas store out there. Having said that, I save a lot more on gas at Dillons. I have saved a $1 a gallon many times at Dillons. They run 4x fuel points on gift cards a lot. When they do that it is pretty easy to run up the fuel points by buying gift cards for places you eat and shop at anyway.

I'd guess most people respect the MVC's ability to send in "cinderella's" even if that doesn't equate to respect in getting bids/seeding. Bill Self, for one, I think would agree with this.

              I agree 100%.

Unfortunately for us, if the greater emphasis in this process is put on our total conference power rating, we're screwed.

              • I apologize for interrupting the QT talk, but in the latest Bracket Matrix update, with 32 brackets updated today, WSU is a 10 seed and the first of the "last four in". Of those 32 updated brackets, seven have left WSU out of the field.

I don't think they are. They'd be 9-10 in conference this year and 19-12 overall. Plus they'd add in a 150+ loss. 6-9 against Top 50 teams shouldn't get you in the tournament. Especially when two of those top 50 wins are against SD State and Ark-Little rock. Plus they've beaten a bunch of nobodies to get to 19 wins.

If they get in, it should be as a play-in game. They don't deserve the 7-8 seed that people are giving them.

I would agree with this. Not to throw another topic into the derailment I already put in play but there is a very strong rumor that the new AD is going to be very aggressive in facility upgrades. He's taking all of the plans to build a dedicated basketball practice facility and remodel the UNIDome and he's "upping the ante" on them to make them bigger and better. Rather than just redoing the outer look of the building to potentially adding 8,000 to 12,000 seats and basically rebuild it. That, if true, would take the UNIDome to about 25-28K capacity. It would also be done roughly the same time WSU would have your program running, should you go that route. A school doesn't add 12,000 seats to a stadium to stay FCS. Not to delve to much into rumors I've heard but UNI/WSU could be a combo somewhere should WSU get football going. The new AD has been at Ole Miss (his alma mater), Wisconsin and Iowa State. He's only 44 or 45. He doesn't see UNI as a for life situation. He wants to prove to the P5 schools he can handle major projects. I have a feeling if we both hang on for about 4 or 5 years something big will happen.

WSU and UNI are both second weekend teams with the right match ups. Hopefully Gregg no longer being in the "I hate everything about St. Louis" mentality wears off and the team can refocus on the NCAAs. Still a very dangerous team with a second weekend run in them with the right mindset.

I keep hearing that Monmouth, Valpa, St Mary's, etc... are at-large teams but WSU isn't. I don't get it. The resume's of those schools compared to WSU is just asinine. Sadly, I do think there is merit to the fact that WSU may be hurt by the fact that Indiana State, Drake, Bradley, Missouri State, etc... can't get their **** straight.

I also think UNI is going to get bent over on seeding because of it as well. The committee will see the same starters for every UNI game and just assume the team is hot right now, which it is. What they will overlook is the fact that during that 2-6 start we had 2 starters (Washpun and Morgan) that shouldn't have been playing due to injuries - Washpun a back injury from the Hawaii tournament and Morgan his shooting wrist that was though might keep him out for the season but he played through it) and 2 other starters that were in and out of the hospital for 2 weeks with the flu, including hours in a hospital getting IVs on game days - Jesperson and Bohannon. Those four just happened to get healthy about the same time and we've seen what has happened.

I suppose I could apologize for UNI shitting the bet to start the conference season. You're 2 losses to UNI wouldn't look nearly as bad has UNI gone 6-2 over those first 8 as UNI probably finishes conference play 14-4 and 22-8 overall at worst at the end of the regular season. That would have put UNI's RPI between 35 and 50 and WSU's RPI up a ways as well, especially since UNI has the highest impact of WSU's RPI of any school. Loyola is second for WSU and assuming UNI kept both losses to Loyola that helps their RPI impact positively for WSU as well.

                        I hope to see WSU grab a 10 and UNI a 12

                        • Lunardi updated "for Syracuse/Pitt". He still has Syracuse in after losing to Pitt. Has them in the 11 vs. 11 play in game, but says they won't stay there by the time the week is over. Still has us as an 8 in the East.

                          • Bracket updated just now! Obviously QT is still a lock for a 1 seed while Casey's is showing last 4 out. I think on Sunday we'll see QT get the overall #1 seed and get to stay in the Midwest bracket. Goatlube is now saying that Casey's won't even get an NIT invite now that they blew their chance against lowly 7-11. In this particular case...I think I agree with him.
