Interesting SBNation analysis, with WSU coming out on top pretty easily, despite only one computer metric (KenPom) being cited (which is WSU's greatest area of strength), and no allowance for injuries. I question whether WSU really should be placed in a pool with Valpo and Monmouth for purposes of comparison to begin with, though.
Still lots of talk about top 50 this, top 100 that, however. I wonder how much attention the selectors really pay to those breakdowns any more, given what we hear about them tending to ignore RPI -- after all, RPI is traditionally how such categories are established. I don't have time to look, but how might WSU would stack up against top 50 and top 100 teams measured a different way? For example, using Warren Nolan's NPI (in which WSU is currently 17th, by the way), which I can check quickly because he's kind enough to calculate it for me, the Shocks are 3-2 against his top 50 and 7-6 against the top 100, even with the Orlando debacle.

Wow. Just wow. The idiocy that follows is mindboggling.
I rarely use my twitter account for sports. Mostly I just follow politics. But this time of year I do follow some sports figures to keep up with what is being said. Last night, Jerry Palm responded to me a couple of times. Read it for yourself. Pitiful.
I'll make a post on shockernet later today or tomorrow detailing out further the stats I referenced in the tweets below. I'm putting together a post showing why leaving out WSU this year would be a travesty.

Hey JH4P, ask him why he gives South Carolina a pass. Yes, the Gamecocks have three better wins than WSU but they also have three worse losses...so those should cancel out, making SC and WSU equal. As you have said to me before, the consensus puts SC and WSU pretty equal in seeding. So why does this jackwagon separate them by so much?78-65
