I thought yesterday was a pure posting error, yet today, Lunardi has another update and once again has WSU as the projected auto-bid winner and sole rep for the MVC. His 7 seed slot has remained unchanged despite the loss to UNI. What the heck Joe? Do your job!

So just doing some real digging. I have pretty much removed all fears. Quick run through for everyone to feel better.
Go here: http://warrennolan.com/basketball/2016/nitty-live
The initial cut-line is at 36. But for every colored number next to a name effectively, it gets moved down one slot. By the time you get to WSU the cut line has moved to 50. Now this is overly simplistic so start looking at some of those conference champs and see if there are some who wouldn't get a bid over WSU should they not win the conference, that effectively moves us ahead of them. So we can safely say WSU would be ahead of Akron, South Dakota State, Monmouth and San Diego State(This one is a bit close and I suppose could go either way but it depends on who they lost to in the MWC tourney). Now pulling in teams who would move ahead of us who have a lower RPI, the only one I can clearly say moves ahead is South Carolina(Maybe Tulsa with a decent run in the American Tourney). The only colored cells that could be in jeopardy at this point is St Marys, A-10 could have a bid thief but that's pretty unlikely. This effectively puts us a a shallow RPI/RPI resume slot of 45 with a cut line still at least a couple slots below us.
So basically the raw cut line is probably just under 50(Thanks SMU and Louisville). And we are ahead of 4 teams and jumped by one maaaaybe two without accounting for Fred's injury OR other stats which love us. So by the most unfavorable metric RPI/RPI resume we are still above the cut-line decently. I feel fine.
But if you want teams to root against there are 4 below us that should they make a deep run may leap us, so root against Vandy, Florida, Pitt, UConn, and if the committee for some stupid ass reason is going to ignore Boeheim suspension, Syracuse.Last edited by ShockCrazy; March 7, 2016, 11:40 AM.

I'm just going to remove myself and enjoy this week. The Shockers will get in. If they don't, it would be pretty sad, but we will all deal with it. My mind immediately goes to all the teams that have great seasons and then get bids stolen by garbage teams because they were in a conference even worse than the MVC. We've got guys we care a lot about, but this is the nature of the beast. Tons of seniors go out without a tourney bid every year. It's sad for everyone. If our guys are selected to compete, I have a feeling the added pressure that is being put on them this week could propel them into the team we've all been waiting for. That run may still be coming. If we don't get selected, I do hope that our team possesses the class and dignity to humble themselves and bring their best effort into the NIT. I guarantee winning an NIT is a fun thing to do, even if not what you had hoped for.

By the way, 5150, you can send some of your stress my way if you have to -- I'm feeling none whatsoever.
