  • Honestly, I'm cool with a 16 seed vs UNC. Shockers would beat them.

I think UNI's win gets the Shox in. Committee was not going to have E'Ville plus 1 from the Valley (E'Ville just zero history). At least UNI and WSU have done some damage in the tourney. WSU 11 seed; UNI 13 seed? Maybe?

    • It might be crazy to say this, but, regarding seeding, I think there are some who will give UNI consideration over the Shockers. They had Marquis wins and beat us twice near the end of the season. I hope that won't happen---but nothing surprises me anymore.

        • Katz and Lunardi say WSU in at the halftime show A-Sun tournament)

My analysis shows WSU in as of today. But the rub is how many power conference auto-bids will be stolen by unworthy teams. So if you are watching conference tourmanets this week and next weekend - don't root for the under-dogs.

If UNI is ahead of us on the S-curve then we are out of the tournament and it wouldn't even be close.

                Crazy.

UNI Kenpom is 79. WSU is 11
UNI RPI 79, WSU RPI is 47

WSU won the regular season conference championship.

UNI non-conference might help WSU (but it won't hurt), but it also might be more wishful thinking. WSU whole body of work is better than UNI for the season.

With an RPI around 70 and getting swept by LOLoyola, among other things, their ceiling is about a 13 seed. They're a 14 seed more than likely. They will not be seeded higher than WSU. That's just simple mathematics.
                  Deuces Valley.
                  ... No really, deuces.

You're right. Forgot about the 68.

Also, no SMU or Louisville. The more I look at it, the more I feel there's no way WSU is on the outside, no matter what Jerry Hack spews from his pie hole. It's just simple numbers and economics.

Also teams that would be an at large will win their tournaments. The P5 conferences and actually a few other leagues almost make it impossible for someone like TCU or Okla State to steal a bid. So in essence take away Louisville and SMU, factor in those other teams mentioned above and it boils down to: Are we one of the top 43-45 teams? If someone can say with a straight face no, then they are lying to themselves

Unsurprisingly, they have a history of giving enormous weight to the raw RPI number since it is their meal ticket.

                              Track record is meh.

                              • Sucks to be in a conference were you win by a margin of 19+ points, yet have to rely on a crapshoot weekend to make it to the dance.
