I would literally bet $1k on the Shockers getting a bid if they win out until the MVC semis, even if only for a $100 payout. Unfortunately this bet isn't available to my knowledge.

I suppose they'll be as bent on a WSU/Maryland match up because of the Turgeon connection as they were on a WSU/KU match up. I'd take the same result!

Maybe VCU is better off without Smart. They never won a league title with Smart as their coach, finishing 2nd 3 times, and 4th or lower 3 times.

I bet if we lost our next 4 and won 3 in St. Louis we would get a bid. "Winning out" is a worthless metric unless it includes an end game not including the automatic bid.

Palm would sound less stupid if he just said WSU had to win the automatic bid and would not get in as an at-large. It would still be stupid, but less stupid.

2016 WSU clearly has the better resume on paper. With both SMU and Louisville banned in 2016, and with WSU getting some sort (even if minimal) of compensation for all the early season injuries, I see no reason to expect that 2016 WSU wouldn't be higher on the committee's S-Curve should this scenario play itself out. Personally, I think WSU would be an 8, 9, or 10 seed in this scenario and don't see how the bubble would even be a concern.
