IMO you will rue the day you posted this message.
With jack up the three offense, twice to Evansville, twice to UNI, once to Il state, once to SIU, and once to Loyola.

Clearly had a much more concerted effort to at least throw the ball inside, with several set plays for the post players.

He's simply one of the best overall players in the country and would start for every team in the country. I'm not sure there's a better overall player. Coach Marshall says he's a 5 tool player; Ron defends, rebounds, sets screen, gets assists, blocks shots... oh, and he shoots pretty well when needed. :)
To add to this, we have two players that undisputedly would start for every single team in the country. No matter what team, no matter how good their starting lineup is, every coach in the country would find a place for Ron and Fred. It's a great time to be a Shocker fan.

      • CF made two wonderful passes inside, don't think we capitalized on either. I thought he and RB both passed up shots.

I believe they scored the 25th point with 3:29 remaining in the first half. That's 9+ minutes without a single point.

          • BTW, the opening tip off toss was as bad, no probably worse, then we saw against Utah at IBA except this time it was in our favor.

It sad, J.R. Simon seems to have more potential than Turnover Taylor

Would you be shocked to know that Jerry Pollard threw up the ball both of those times?

J.R. Simon is also a true freshman?

Maybe he's afraid of getting hurt by Big Shaq? I know I would be.

Okay, so you're saying that at least he is consistent.

Was just about ready to post about the toss; I missed part of the game today including the opening tip. Just fired up the DVR and that was the worst toss I've ever seen. No doubt he was afraid of a Shaq attack and basically tossed the ball in Shaq's direction.

                        • One thing that is not debatable about today's game is that Mark Adams and Rich Hollenberg were looking very sharp indeed.

                          • I think Gregg doesn't mind his games being called by Jerry Pollard. Somewhat ironic since it was Jerry who tossed Gregg in Gregg's very first Arch Madness game.

All the hyperbole aside, you didn't address my question...I was wondering why was Baker so tentative on the offensive end for the first 3/4 of the game. He passed up numerous great looks within the flow of the offense, which then resulted in other players jacking up ill-advised shots. It was odd. I'm not doubting Baker as a great all-around player. I simply found this aspect of his game a bit uncharacteristic.

                              • Doc and I discussed something in the first half when our defense forced a five-second count on their point guard. I thought the 5 second count rule was removed. I asked Doc and that was his understanding as well.

Can anyone clarify that one? Please and thank you.
