      • I have been out of the loop a bit so if this has been discussed, I apologize. Is there any chance of us adding another opponent after Arch Madness, where it is NMSU or someone else? St. Mary's did that one year, giving them another game to get Paddy Mills on the court to try to improve their resume and win total.

It looks like New Mexico State's tournament is the weekend after Arch Madness, so I'm not sure how possible a game with them would be. I hope we have several staff members constantly on the phone until we get something figured out. It would be really nice to have one more win on our resume.

appears to be between home games F13 and F18. NMSU also plays those days

Looks like two windows where it makes some sense to fit the game in this season. WSU is home J23 and J27. Could play in between. Best date

NMSU plays J23 at CSU Bakersfield, but the next game is home on J30

F13 they play at Chicago St and then home on F18.

              • The opening between the home game against UNI on 2/13 (an 11 am TV game) and the Thursday evening home game with MoSt is definitely the biggest space in the schedule (5+ days), and it might not be too burdensome to add NMSU before a game against MoSt, which appears to be one of the weaker teams in the Valley. And the Aggies could stop in Wichita on their way back home from Chicago.

But the game against the UNIs could be a tough one mentally, and NMSU is good enough and big enough to be dangerous. Plus, it's fairly late in the season, when fatigue may be starting to be a factor, especially for Baker (although less so for LeFred and Grady because of their injury time off). So that's the best time, though not an ideal one. Still, losing the chance at a decent win is another blow to a resume that doesn't need any more weakening, so it may be worth the risk.

And I won't have tickets for the game because I sold mine for the regularly scheduled game. I'd hate to be the people, whoever they may be, who bought my seats and may never get to use them.

                  • 29 Feb would be my pick if workable. Good tune up for Arch Madness

                    • Called the ticket office and they swapped out my WSUvNMU general admission tickets for the WSUvDrake game on Thursday. From call to the new tickets via email only took a couple of minutes.

I'm hoping for a lot more out of our bench by that time. If not, it may not matter in the long run anyway.

                          • We close the regular season at home against Illinois State on Feb. 27th. Ironically, New Mexico State plays at UMKC that same afternoon and then close out their regular season at UT-Rio Grande on Saturday, March 5th. To me the ideal situation would be to play them on Monday night, Feb. 29th before traveling to St. Louis for our opening game on Friday, March 4th. New Mexico State could actually bus down on Saturday and therefore save money. The only issue might be obligations on the conferences part for us to arrive at a certain time.

                            • I think the only argument against tourney week is the fatigue issue. 3 games in 3 days I'm thinking you'd want as much rest as possible.

That would be 5 games in an 8 day period.

                              ... No really, deuces.
