How bad is the weather in Wichita? I have tickets for the game tonight, but live 2 hours east of Wichita and just wondering whether I should risk making the trip. I hate to miss the game, but also don't want to put my family in danger. Roads here are not to bad, but it is still sleeting here. Thanks.

Roads were pretty bad this AM for the morning commute. Heard that they closed down k-96 on the west end of town past 235, 8 cars off the highway and they eventually closed that stretch of 96.

I would assume the highway crews are going to have the roads clear by this afternoon, but if there is melt off and a refreeze, it could get pretty bad tonight. I think if you feel comfortable driving, you'll be safe but may have to drive slow. If you don't make it out, no one is going to think twice about it because safety first is the best option IMO if you have a 4 hour round trip.

Watch some Facebook videos on ice and car wrecks which were outside of the driver's control. You will want to stay home.

This does not sound good. If they are trying to get a commercial flight out of El Paso they will have to connect through Dallas, Denver or Houston. Last I looked Dallas was having Excessive Delays (5 on a scale of 1-5), Denver was having significant delays (3.5) and Houston was having significant delays (4.0).

If they are still in Las Cruces getting to Wichita on a commercial flight by game time is a very iffy proposition.
