My first MVC tourney trip. Here's to it being a great one.
This will be our second trip. First trip was fantastic can't wait to head out to st Louis tomorrow morning. I suggest taking in the pep rallies. Great time! You will be amazed at how many shocker fans make the trip. Black and yellow everywhere. Then comes the goose bumps when you drive by a billboard with Baker on it!

    Damn, can't wait!!

      • Third (consecutive) trip.

For the montage before the championship game, I hope they don't say something ridiculous like "What a historic year for the Missouri Valley Conference" again. :P

Sorry I'm late to this, but one quick question. Can you buy passes at all metrolink stations if you don't buy them ahead of time? Is there a machine or some ticket booth?

There's a machine. You should be able to buy one way passes in advance and just not validate them yet, too.

            • Like ShockerPhi, headed to KC tomorrow afternoon with Mrs. 'hut. Buddy, who conveniently had a "business meeting" tomorrow am in St. Louis, is already sending me photos from the roof top bar at the Hilton and BS like, "What a view!" and "Man they have a great pour". DB.....and I have spend all weekend with him. He already owes me one for rubbing it in!

First timer here. We had rooms at the Hilton Garden Inn at the Airport. I had a HH deal that gave me 33% off if staying 3 nights. It was about a 30 minute train ride to the games/pep rallies. Wife wasn't very excited about the length of the train ride, so she got on Priceline and put in $101 (some trick she learned from her mom or something) for a 4 star in downtown, and it came back as the Hyatt at the Arch. I am planning on being at the pep rally at least Friday, and assuming we will love it and be back for the next two.

I just googled last minute hotel deals and Hotwire came up with a 4 star hotel in downtown St Louis for $82. Took a chance and got the Hilton at the Ballpark. The cheapest I had seen for that hotel was $179 so I was thrilled. Heading out tomorrow afternoon.

                    • My son is not able to make the trip to the Arch with us because of baseball tryouts so I have one All-Session pass in the Loyola section for sale - section 118 row H. I'm not leaving until Thursday evening so could meet in Wichita before that or meet in St Louis before the Friday games. PM me if interested.

                      • Mrs. Vector and I will head out Thursday morning for our 6th foray with Arch Madness.

I took the Family Truckster down to the Vickers filling station where I had the boys check the air and oil, clean the windows, and fill her up with ethyl (I always recommend pumping Ethyl, it helps with performance). They were kind enough to give me a couple folding maps of Kansas and Missouri to help plan the trip. I tossed in my 3-Dog Night and Alice Cooper 8-track tapes (helps make the time go by). I sure hope we don't get lost in East St Louis again, seems to happen every year. My Terry Benton jersey is pressed and ready to wear....... Sorry, just reminiscing there. :tongue-new:

We're staying at the Drury Inn near the railroad tracks. We have great seats in amongst the trees this year (thanks ITF), we are looking forward to it. I will concur on the Lombardo's recommendation, good food and service in a relaxed atmosphere. Maggie O'Briens also has decent food and drink plus quick service, located about 3 blocks north of the Scottrade Center.

Have a safe trip and see you in St Louie Shocker Fans!

                            • Rixtoy and I are staying at the ISUR host hotel because of a Hyatt family member deep discount. Looking forward to it - gonna have me some fun!
If you take the high road, you won't find much traffic there . . .

If I understand correctly from what my wife said when she called, it's not only ISUR that is staying there, but also UNI. Looking forward to having the fam decked out in Shockers gear amongst the less fortunate.
