Very true, the best stuff is usually in the taproom, like when I went to Avery in Boulder a couple of years ago. (They're actually my favorite Colorado brewery. White Rascal is my go-to pregame beer).

I have heard of Funkwerks but actually didn't know that was in Ft. Collins. Another stop for a future trip! :)

I do like that all of the games except 1 are on the same day. Will really make it feel like a challenge instead of a scheduling agreement.

Give Black Bottle Brewery a try. Very close to campus and it's an up and coming small outfit.

While you're in the area and if you're hankerin' for BBQ, try Nordy's in nearby Loveland. It's in my top 3 of BBQ places in CO.

What happens if we are in the MWC next year?

Unseasonably warm this year, bitterly cold next? I guess it couldn't be any colder than Sioux Falls was.
Where oh where is our T. Boone Pickens.

If anything, watching their coach make an arse out of himself would be worth the price of admission. FWIW, Kansas State pretty much handled Colorado State at IBA on Saturday. Of course it could have been a much different game with Clavell playing.

However, there is no telling what kind of team we'll have next year without FVV and Baker. This could be a much more even match-up than some of you think it will be.

Agree on Avery! If you make it to Funkwerks, go by Horse and Dragon. It's in the same neighborhood and a neat place.

Y'all acting like Fort Collins is terrible. Great beer there.

For reference, Ft. Collins only averages 60 inches of snow per year and only 8 in December. The odds of getting caught in a large snowstorm are not that high.
The mountains are calling, and I must go.

Ft Collins is a great college town, which has an abundance of watering holes and nice people. So non Boulder like its amazing they are so close to each other. The loons and experimental mind chemists seem to keep to the far west of I-25

Colorado State is and always has been the "Ag school" in Colorado. It's more of a good ole boy kind of place, much more "country" and much less yuppy than CU-Boulder. We used to go over there (Ft. Collins) for three day parties once or twice a year. Used to be a great country-dance bar (which was fun 20 years ago). Funny thing is it was called "The Cow Palace". Ten dollar cover and penny pitchers always made "Drinkin with Lincoln" a good time cheap enough for college kids. Unfortunately, that was before the micro brew "movement" was what it is now. Or maybe that is fortunately, as I would probably be dead broke by now.

Then you'll see flocks of pigs and hear oinking from the sky while climate scientists scream about another ice age due to a sudden drop in the earth's core temperature.

Should be tickets available since the kids should be home for break or damn near gone. Thinking a 5 day trip would be nice and easy. A day in the Springs and one in Denver and then a day where ever and a couple in Ft Collins.

I lived in Ft. Collins for 7 years and went to several games at Moby. It sells out for the Wyoming game and that's about it. The floor has those ginormous ram's horns that are an eyesore, but it's a pretty nice arena. There will be plenty of great seats available! I am making this roadie for sure. Might add on a detour to Winter Park.

Depending on "how many days" and "how much picking up to stay somewhere else", I've found that staying in Loveland is nicely centralized. Ft. Collins just to the north, Longmont, Boulder, Lyons to the south, Greeley to the east all under or just over 30 minutes and Denver is only an hour away. Also, Loveland is not without its good watering holes and distillers.
