I suppose we can expect to see some more home cookin' like we did the other night!!!! After all, turnabout is fair play. Utah was cooked up some Filet Mignon and Duck-Butter Mashed Potatoes last year when they got to play at home and were whistled for 12 fouls in 45 minutes.
"Officials do not give in to "home cookin'". If they were only called for 12 fouls, then they only committed 12 fouls. Ask them, they'll tell you.

Hustle makes up for a lot of things, but 7" is a little much to be asking. I just hope we slow Poetl down. If we do that, we win. Our guards are clearly better than theirs this year. No Deion Wright probably has something to do with that.
I remember he abused Darius in the pick and roll for a lot of the first half. Maybe Evan was involved too, I can't remember.

I mean come on, I recognize we are currently 4-4, but not even anyone in Salt Lake would argue we don't have an advantage in the back court. I just really think this article is poorly written. He argues it from a stats perspective, but without Fred for half of our games obviously our stats would be down. I don't really care about someone predicting us to lose or something, but I just don't like how the article read like big bad Utah was coming in here and it will take an incredible effort for the midmajor to win.
"Pull the upset"? Think again bcs bias boy. Shocks are favored.

First off, WTF is "block U?" A wing of a prison? LOL at SB Nation and all of their cute attempts at individual nicknames. Works with some schools; looks and sounds stupid with most of the others.

Secondly, that article makes it sound like we are getting ready to go up against the NBA All-Sta... I mean the '90-'91 UNLV Rebels. Curious article tone considering Utah is an inconsequential five spots in front of us in Kenpom (in spite of a MUCH better record), the game is in Wichita and is their first roadie of the season, and they are the underdogs according to Vegas and KP. Kind of strange... or maybe myopic would be the better term.

Thirdly, if you think FVV and Baker - both All-Americans - don't give WSU a drastic advantage over Utah's best 1 & 2, then you should probably go back to your coloring book instead of posing as a journalist.

I'm much more excited about this game after seeing us get back to our trusted defense and the Play Angry mode Wednesday night.

This will be my first Shockers game in Wichita in 30 years and I'm stoked. Taking my Dad, brother and sister to Intrust to celebrate Dad's 87th birthday.

I predict a close win and a Conner Frankamp return to shooting form now that he's got he first game jitters out of the way.

                          Go Shox!

Space Jam got it all wrong. Instead of having Michael Jordan lead the Looney Tunes characters against the Monstars, they should've simply faced the greatest basketball team of all time: The 90-91 Runnin' Rebels. Of course, this would've meant that MJ would've lost. In the movie, his punishment for if he lost to the Monstars was serving as their slave. If his team lost to the Runnin' Rebels, his punishment probably would've been talking trash on UNLV's opponents' message boards for all of eternity.

always, we need superior team defense, especially on their big guy. Another very entertaining

Rauno really needs to hit a three in this game. I'm no expert, but if Rauno in particular becomes a threat from three, doesn't that affect what Poeltl has to do defensively in a pretty helpful way? I love having Rauno's skill set on this team. Right now, it's just a matter of him finally starting to become successful at it.
