My prediction for Wednesdays game is that the Rebs press a lot and cause turnovers. The Rebs interior passing is very good, and it helps that our big men can shoot from 15-17 ft as well as complete well timed passes to the wings when the defense gets sucked in. If we have to we'll start attacking the paint with our guards to draw fouls. McCaw is longer and much more athletic than either of your guards - and he is a mismatch for your forwards. I can't deny the experience and toughness Baker And VanVleet bring will pose a difficult challenge. Nwamu is built like a linebacker, but moves like a guard - He and Seegears would be challenged by Baker/VanVeleet at full strength but that doesn't seem to be the case. On top of that - Our second line is good enough to start for most programs, From the last 3 games the shockers played it looked like your second team was still pretty green. There will be no let up in intensity from the Rebs.

Rebs win 80-74, but don't worry too much. It won't be a bad loss for you.
Shockers don't stand a chance. Lose by 36.

Our baseball program had the #2 ranked recruiting class for 2014. Ask us how the 2015 season went with all of those killer 'cruits. Nevermind... I'll just tell you: worst final record and performance metrics out of any WSU team since the sport was resurrected here under former Coach Gene Stephenson in the 1970's.

On the basketball side, the current WSU player with arguably the most NBA draft potential is a guy who chose to walk on at our program rather than get a full ride at a D2 school. I believe he was 0 stars out of 0 stars out of high school, if you could even find him on a recruiting site.

Take those caveats for what they are worth.

Seriously, it's like groundhog day around here with the puffing of chests from various visiting fan bases with regards to them telling us about the ranking levels of individual players, and then Gregg Marshall and Sons goes out as a team and throws them all into a clown suit. I can't count the number of schools who have fallen into this logical trap over the years, only to get owned by WSU. Suffice to say you would recognize the names. Now this might not happen on Wednesday, as our team has gone a little 'As the World Turns' here at the start of the season, due to really no fault of their own, but it doesn't change the fact that your game is a little tired around here.

Lastly, and this might be a shock to you, but little ol' WSU outspends UNLV by nearly 80% on men's basketball - $3.8M versus $6.8M. Weird... considering how apparently important UNLV basketball is to the historical fabric of this nation... or whatever.
Umm, as far as how much is spent on basketball by each school, I don't think the places where your information comes from are allowed to include the cars or dance parties or whatever it is that is drawing top 15 recruiting classes to a program without a winning tradition since 1991.

        • My prediction after reading everything . UNLV starts strong pulling ahead 60-0 at halftime. They decide to go home early and don't even field a team the second half. The Shocks still in awe of the greatness that is UNLV score the first 20 points in their own basket building an 80-0 UNLV lead. At this point getting straightened out they score 78 unanswered points. With the score 80-78 with 2.3 seconds left and the ball under their own basket. They in bound the ball to Bush W, who proceeds to miss the uncontested lay-in from about 2.3 inches from the basket as time expires. UNLV escapes with a 80-78 win.

It's amazing how many of those Vegas Slot machines magically start paying out whenever the UNLV players insert their players club cards!!!

(completely joking for those UNLV fans visiting)

P.S. Attention Rebel fans; I haven't tried any of these, just check out the stars. :)

It goes straight into the gutter. You can count on that without even opening it. Be sure and watch that video I just posted over lunch with your co-workers nearby.

My grandson, Maxx, age 10, loves this stuff. When he grows up, he wants to be a professional wrestler or zoologist.

Duke University has the best zoology program in the nation, though this claim is contested by others. Maxx has looked into the Duke program.

Either way it sounds like a zoo and some cages will be involved in his future.

                        • A few notes from Twitter:

Fred is sore and didnt' practice yesterday, but will play tomorrow. Marshall says hes about 75%

Baker on UNLV: "They are huge and look like an NBA team"

Marshall says Frankamp not cleared yet, but is working with the academic office. They aren't sure when they will hear, but they are hopefully he will be cleared by gametime.

Baker on Frankamp: "he doesn't miss a whole lot" and when asked about playing together with Frankamp and VanVleet "its just a fun team to play on"

                          • Serious question on the whole "greatest team ever" ideas. With the way training is today, would any (left as they were) of the old great teams beat a good team today? For example, in swimming the world records of 50 years ago are matched by really good HS age swimmers today. Just because of better training. Do you think the same is true for basketball?

                              • Can somebody explain to me why Vegas has WSU opening up as 7 point favorites against the most athletic team in the history of college basketball?

                                Vegas must be on crack.

                                ... No really, deuces.
