The answer would be because he's on a team that's had a top 15 recruiting class in each of the last 3 years.

The shockers will win. I'm not worried about UNLV. Their coach always seems to get a lot of talented recruits and go nowhere with them.

How'd you do in the NCAA's last year? The year before?

How did those last 2 years of recruiting classes work out for you? I don't remember UNLV with a 1 seed, or a sweet sixteen. Maybe I missed it

My prediction for Wednesdays game is that the Rebs press a lot and cause turnovers. The Rebs interior passing is very good, and it helps that our big men can shoot from 15-17 ft as well as complete well timed passes to the wings when the defense gets sucked in. If we have to we'll start attacking the paint with our guards to draw fouls. McCaw is longer and much more athletic than either of your guards - and he is a mismatch for your forwards. I can't deny the experience and toughness Baker And VanVleet bring will pose a difficult challenge. Nwamu is built like a linebacker, but moves like a guard - He and Seegears would be challenged by Baker/VanVeleet at full strength but that doesn't seem to be the case. On top of that - Our second line is good enough to start for most programs, From the last 3 games the shockers played it looked like your second team was still pretty green. There will be no let up in intensity from the Rebs.

Rebs win 80-74, but don't worry too much. It won't be a bad loss for you.
We now know 2 things. McCaw will be the NPOY and UNLV is a shoe in to win the dance. Since I have nothing better to do Wednesday, I'll try to make it to 21st and Hillside so I can tell my grand kids some day that I saw UNLV play in person the year they destroyed college basketball.

Meaning they have high verticals? Impressive. That's one aspect of athleticism. ZB, although he hasn't realized it yet, can get to the hoop in two steps no dribble. Soon as that dummy figures it out, hes gonna be exceptional. Takes up a lot of the court too.

Here's a little thing about rebel lover.

He swoops in with ignorant bullshit, expecting everybody to bow down to UNLV on an opposing message board. By Wednesday evening, he'll never be heard from again. Ask UNI fans for verification.

If you wanted to have a real conversation about match-ups, we would have happily obliged. Running over here to tell us how awesome your team is is pretty low rent. This is a Shocker board.

Exactly. They get good recruiting classes and go nowhere with them.

I'm so confused. With all that talent for that many years, how does UNLV keep going .500 and ranking around 100 in the RPI during that same stretch?

And we don't have to address what happened to your great players in 2011-12

                          • UNLV has two NCAA tournament wins in the last 25 years.

                            • UNLV is VERY athletic. If nobody is between them and the basket, they can throw down some incredible dunks. UNLV has an excellent recruiter running the show. He is somehow able to pull in extremely highly touted classes, well beyond what would be expected based on the quality of the program since Tark retired. He is able to do somewhere between very little and nothing with those great athletes. UNLV recruits names and athletes. HCGM recruits basketball players that fit his system and then turns them into All Americans.

That's a solid skill to have. It's a pretty regular event when the opposing team lines up, let's you have a free run while they face away from you, then lets you dunk over them with arms down. I've seen it like 15 times this year during live games.
