Take the high road folks. Fran left his players in because by year's end, the W over our beloved Shox is going to look good on Iowa's transcript. He knows that the Shox will turn things around when we get healthy, get a 20 point win on a high RPI team will help them.

Fran has proven he is an idiot. This game didn't change that one way or another.

It's going to take some games for Fred and Conner to acclimate to playing with this young team. Conner may be rusty for a while. Don't think we're going to be a great team right off the bat. I still think we will win the league, but our non-con record is going to be bad.

Utah is a must-win now if we want an at-large bid. The selection committee can account for losses due to injury, but not a lack of wins. In 2012-2013 we were 2-3 against the top 50, 5-5 versus 51-100, 18-1 against 101+. 2 good wins and 5 okay wins. Beat Utah and maybe UNI look like they'll be our chances to get top 50 wins this season. We need to go 2/3 or 3/4 in games against them. We probably need to ace the Aces and put down the Rebels as well, as they will likely be 51-100 RPI games. And then we can't afford many more bad losses.

Basically, zero margin for error. Must likely we'll need to win the MVC tournament, because the other route is essentially "go undefeated, maybe lose one game to UNI and one game to an upset."

Thank goodness for Charleston Southern and Emporia State. I am afraid this is a nightmare we don't wake from. My fear is Fred keeps reinjuring his leg, and Connor doesn't pan out, and team chemistry never quite materializes. I pray that I am wrong.

I also can't remember a single team as heavily injured as we are. Especially when all the injuries are key players.
