There were some missed calls. The officiating did not remotely effect the outcome of the game.

The Shocks are undermanned and the bodies available are very inexperienced.

The youngsters are learning and improving by leaps and bounds. I see a lot of good stuff and am not particularly worried as long as the Shocks learn how to get the right people the ball, take good shots and learn defensive schemes.

      • I'm still not worried. This will be a totally different team with FVV and Shamet back, and Conner in the lineup

        • Losing doesn't bother me. You take the good with the bad. But man this is not how Ron and Fred's senior season should be going.

          • My new starting 5:

FVV (Simon at point if Fred not ready)
            Baker
            McDuff
            Hamilton
            Shaq

We need to get Baker off point guard duties, it's just not helping the team. Simon is more than capable of being a game manager. Shaq is better than Wamukota and Nurger put together, even with the mental issues, whatever they are. McDuff brings some offense and athletism. Hamilton brings scoring, rebounding, energy and ability to stretch the floor.

At some point, and it's coming soon, how different of a team we are with them won't matter if we can't win the Valley tourney. We play in the MVC. We can't bomb the noncon and then get healthy in time to go on a tear in conference and make the tourney.

Missed calls are part of the game, no big deal there. So in other words it wasn't as bad as people on here are making it out to be?

                • No one got hurt. I liked how Shaq and Hamilton looked towards the end of the game. Any other positives?

There were stretches of awful officiating, to the point that Marshall got t'ed up because of it. Iowa got the benefit of the whistle and blown calls.

It had no impact on the outcome of the game however.

Generally I agree. If we can get the Utah and UNLV games, that might be enough if we have a good conference season. We are name brand enough now that we will be given some leeway. And anybody who is a general college basketball fan knows about the injury situation. It'll be taken into consideration with the committee. However, our room for error is pretty much nil.

I understand that, the non-conf is not going to be pleasant this season, but we can all assume it would have been different without the injuries. I'm just doing my best to stay positive about the team we are putting on the floor now. Non power 5 conference or not, Wichita State has earned the right to have a bit of a down season and still make the tournament. Just my opinion of course

I actually think if we totally dominate the Valley (I mean we we make it really obvious this is a completely different team) with our recent success the committee will let us in even if we lose two more in the non-con. Probably need 17-1 or 16-2.
