To be real honest, I'm not as concerned with him taking ill-advised shots as I am with him going too far the other way and trying too hard not to shoot. I know that's probably not going to happen, but being confident in his ability to score regardless of the situation could be very important, at least for the immediate future. Somebody besides Ron is going to have to step up and make some tough shots, and outside of Anton, so far no one else has shown the desire to do so. With a full compliment of players around him that can score, then yes, he needs to learn to be more pass oriented, but without that option available, go out there and score buckets young man!!

With the lack of scoring from everyone not named baker or Grady. We need to take all the help we can get.

Was hoping Kelly would show more; I know it's only two games but I was hoping for better after flashes last year. Hopefully it will come.

Kelly is actually the only sophomore that I feel comfortable with his growth. He's the only one that has improved. The other 2 have fallen backwards.

Wessel also needs to be ready to fire.

Yep! Kelly's flashes from last year have turned into consistent successes this year. I too would like to see more of that, but the guy has demonstrated some outstanding cuts without the ball, slashes to the lane with the ball, post moves, and has hit 7 of 9 shots inside the arc. More of the same please!

                      As a data point-
Ron gets a shot off every 2.3 minutes.
                      Anton every 3.4 minutes.
                      Tyrone every 2.3 minutes.
                      Rashard every 5.9 minutes
                      Evan every 5.8 minutes.
                      Zach every 5.5 minutes.

Don't believe Tyrone's willingness to shoot is an issue.

I agree. It hasn't been an issue. If you read the second sentence of my comment, you will see that I don't think it's going to become one.

Actually your comment just made me wonder how often guys were shooting and thus my quick math. My post was just informational.

Your info also points out that Kelly, at 7-9 inside the arc, needs to be shooting more.

The one thing we are missing on this year's team is a stretch four who can shoot the ball. Nurger has the potential to be that player, but he of course, is red shirting.
