But seriously, I see no reason for TT to be getting this much playing time, especially considering that Simon seems perfectly capable of bringing the ball up the court. Hopefully this is all a moot discussion as FVV will be back and good to go.
JRS is doing a great job bringing the ball up court, but on the defensive end he is running around like a chicken with his head cut off, chasing his man to the ends of the Earth; instead of simply spacing himself in a more efficient position and anticipating the play.

T2 is is doing a great job bringing the ball up court, and is defensively spacing out nicely, but whenever the skies part and he catches the slightest gleam off the rim he starts prematurely ejaculating all over the place. If he would just realize that you should pass up an "okay" look, in order to give your teammate a "great" look, he'd be the obvious choice for the backup. And so it goes with underclassmen ...

    • He has the green light to hunt his shot, not just take shots. I will trust Marshall in that regard until I have ample evidence that HCGM has grossly over estimated TT2.

      • Kennedy said before Iowa that Marshall was spending time with Taylor showing him this is a good shot and this isn't. He was taking the shot clock into account, where he was on the court, etc. I don't think Gregg wants him to hunt shots as a point. He wants him to run the offense and shoot good shots.

        • One thing I've noticed from Taylor is that he is very good at those 18-foot pull-up jumpers after curling around a ball screen. If he would stick to those and wide-open threes with less than 15 on the shot clock, then I think we'd have a promising backup freshman PG.

Agreed! Everything about his game other than shot selection is promising.

"Who wants to take a guarded 3 with 24 seconds on the shot clock?"

Taylor jumps up and down with his hand in the air.

            • I don't remember if it was my wife or someone near our seats at the Emporia State game, but she started calling Taylor by the nickname of "Trigger"!

                • Bump.

As I watch the limited minutes TT gets, one thing stick out clearly about his ability. TT is quicker/more fast-twitch than any gaurd (maybe player) on this roster.

He has a lot to learn still, but that ability will help him a lot with being able to push the ball, speed up the offense, and drive to the basket. I hope he can develop into the next great PG in this program.

Ty has the Henderson affliction. He put up 4 shots in three minutes of play in the NMS game. The rate when applied to 40 minutes equals 53 attempts per 40 minutes of play.

Like you, I love his speed and quickness. I hope he develops into a very fine point guard.

Yep. I'm glad he was able to hit that three at the end after absolutely bricking his first two shots about 8 seconds into the shot clock.

He's definitely quick. As of now, that's the only positive aspect I'm seeing out of him. I know he's still a freshman, but given the extraordinary hype going into the preseason, I'm grossly disappointed at the moment. Things can change and hopefully he can develop but I'm having a hard time seeing him get any meaningful minutes next year.
