It will be best for all.
Agreed. Especially with Conner coming into the fold soon. Hold Landry out and let him and Conner ball out together next year.

      Emotional and not smart.

Look at it this way, if Baker hadn't already redshirted the season before, he would have took a medical redshirt the Final Four year.

So it'll be about 8-10 weeks before he gets his conditioning and timing back under him, considering he'll be in a boot for quite a while. You're talking early February. That's a long time.

I'm not saying that this decision shouldn't be considered but it should not be made until the deadline for making it. We will have more information at that time. Shamet may not be a four year player.

Let's just hope no one else gets injured, ala just a few years ago.

I don't understand pushing for a decision like giving up a year of eligibility now when you can wait till you have more data later. Progress of recovery, progression of other players, coaches' projection of impact of a return. There is no reason to say "Medical Redshirt!" right now.

Kind of a moot point as you apply for those after the season, but still.

The only reason Baker didn't redshirt was the fact that he was already a red shirt. I don't think he planned on being in school for six years.

I agree and that is what I would expect. 3G did nto say that he hadn't thought about that or perhaps, in his mind, already be leaning heavily towards that. He just told MK that it was too early to talk about it. OTOH, no reason to worry about for the next 10-12 weeks either. Obviously, he will know much more by that time about where his team stands then he does now and that could influence whether he wants to bring him back for a post-season run or go the redshirt route.

In the meantime, let's hope the additional minutes for Ty at the point and perhaps Zach Brown at the 2 and perhaps Markis at the 3 will pay dividends later in the year and into next year.

Granted they won't make the decision right now, but I would say I put a MRS possibility at 85%.

Could be that the player wants to come back to play for a natty, too. Long time between now and then.

Another consideration is whether they'll be in a position to declare for the NBA before their elegibilty is up.

Paul tweets Landry will have surgery Wednesday. Good luck, Landry.

I see Markis as a four yr guy much like Vanvleet and Baker. On the coaches show coach was saying 10 to 12 weeks and sugery then rehab. That puts him at the end of Febuary or early March, I think he will end up redshirting unless we have a rash of injuries to our guards late in the year. I'd rather have him for four full years personally, but ultimately its between Landry and the coach and his parents will probably have some imput.

                                Unbelievable.

I haven't clicked on the articles yet. When did the injury occur?
