Only "good" option is for our freshmen to grow up quick and our sophomores to come where they were at the end of last year. Just another random thought...any way we become a post dominated team for a few weeks until we get some of our guards back in the game? Pack in a zone, don't let anybody in the paint, and make them shoot over you? Again, grasping...
Except that so far most teams have done a good job shooting over us.

Markis may be the best ball handler after the guys that have been playing the 1 and 2 spots. He looks for assists more than the other 3's and 4's. He's just so damn young and thin.

This is very true. He's had some ridiculous passes this year.

McDuffie has had some nice passes for sure but I don't see a good ball handler yet. He looks like a turnover waiting to happen if forced to really handle the ball against pressure. I dunno, I seem to be in the minority with that assessment.

Just my opinion, but the only reason I would do that is if Fred had to be shut down for the rest of the year (and they would both be medically redshirted). With FVV and LS, we have a great shot to make a Final Four this year.

I think the turnover perception is due to youth and strength, not skill. He only has 1 turnover in 22 minutes of play (admittedly he didn't play against Tulsa) to go along with 2 assists. He also has 6 rebounds in that 22 minutes with 2 of those being offensive. I note also that Gregg has him up front on the press offense which indicates some sort of confidence. At this point he is going to have to play minutes against all competition. Finishing seems to be his biggest obstacle.

Maybe it's just coincidence, but doesn't this seem to be a problem that disproportionately affects young players? At WSU, we're seeing it this year with Shamet, last year to a slightly lesser degree with Nurger, before that with baker as a redshirt freshman; and even in the pre-Marshall days with Paul Miller, on back to Antoine Carr (wasn't his more of a shin issue?), and possible even Robert Elmore, whom I recall being limited by a foot problem of some sort at the beginning of his career.

It's as if the physical demands and intensity of serious D-1 basketball (and certainly no one is more serious than Marshall -- although, as I say, this isn't unique to his teams at WSU) are so much greater than in high school that they overstress, so to speak, players' anatomies in a number of cases until the guys get a little older and stronger, and more accustomed to what's required.

Wasn't this also a MAJOR reason for the floor being replaced and upgraded ? as I recall

Coach said Landry's out 10 to 12 weeks; may have surgery Wednesday.

Also said it was too early to even discuss a medical redshirt but he did say that once Landry is cleared to play it will take some time to get into game shape since he will be able to do very little during post-surgery recovery period.

                          Redshirt. Period.

It will be best for all.

I have been super impressed with his dribbling skills. Beyond that, I can't say if he "values" the ball.

This is a decision that needs to wait until later. I don't think that the decision has to be made until February or March. Why push it.
