Like I said nothing against Anton, not his fault. They masked his defense at Cleveland State by making him kind of a goalie back there.
Again he can only do what he can do. The point of my initial posts was the other 5s need to pick it up in areas he lacks in.

It isn't just Fred we're missing either because he didn't play or couldn't play even at 75%, but we haven't replaced Tekele. We haven't replaced his D, his quiet confidence, his explosiveness, his scoring. There is a good reason why so many here felt as strongly about TC as they did, to the point of him being their favorite player.
We've replaced Carter with Grady. We still have Baker being Baker. Unfortunately, we're missing Fred whether on or off the court due to injury. No one is coming close to replacing what we lost with Cotton. That was our 4 big production positions last year and right now we're at about 2 to 2 1/2 at filling those 4 productive positions. As much as I love what Wessel brings, it's no more (or less) than last year. He played 28/23 minutes against Tulsa/ESU and scoring 3 points and had 1 rebound in each game. He's shooting .273 for the season so far. As a senior, he's got pick up a little of the slack. Next in minutes last year, and seeing almost 24 mpg this year, is Kelly. He has helped the cause averaging 5.7 ppg and 4.3 rpg. That said, he needs to get more involved in the offense. Inside the arc he's 7-9 and 3-3 from the line. We can use those kind of numbers right now.
On the plus, we can hope Fred can get healthy. Hind sight usually being 20/20, he shouldn't have stepped on the court so far this year. We'd still be 2-1, our bench would have more playing experience, and FVV would have been healthier. We can also cross our fingers that CF will add an important dimension.

I still think Fred being hurt will pay dividends in March. The young guys are being forced to fast track their "training". This experience will pay off.
Just don't want Fred out TOOOOOO long lol.
I still think all the injuries really helped us out during the Final 4 run. Hoping for the same this year. We will see"He called me around noon and was thrilled," Brandt said. "He said he was going to be a Shocker forever." -- RIP Guy, you WILL indeed be a Shocker forever!

I doubt Fred will wait that long, but I hope he takes the long run approach and tries to heal before playing again.
Zach Brown has to get his KU mojo.

I don't think anyone knows when he will be healed. Hamstring injuries linger. If he doesn't reinjur it, he might be ready by the time Frankamp is available. If he plays to early, we might get slow Fred until after Christmas.Livin the dream
