I think I'm becoming more and more aware of the lack of Juniors on this team. Only having five upperclassmen hurts. Especially when one of them isn't at 100%

On defense I think the team just assumed TC would shut down his guy, and 99% of the time they were right in assuming that. Without TC I think we seem a little off on defense because we haven't made the mental adjustment to him not being there.

Come on...He picked the Shockers to lose to Tulsa. Concern about dropping one in Orlando isn't exactly giving up on the team here.

I wasn't sure what to think about BWam. Totally unimpressed early. Thought he did well in the second half.

I'd like to see McDuffie starting at the 3. Wessel just isn't doing anything for me this year. We need guys that can produce and McDuff provides nice passing and better rebounding.

                  My thoughts:

Our flow on offense is not good right now. This is the result of FVV hurt/playing at less than 100%. Ron is getting his, but the rest of the team is still figuring out their roles. We have consistently had 2-3 guys on the floor who look like they are thinking and not playing at game speed yet.

Getting FVV back at 100%, plus the addition of another scoring threat in Frankamp, will take a lot of pressure off the Freshman and Sophomore guards.

I really don't like how Zach Brown has played so far this year. I'm not sure if this is a confidence thing, but he looks lost on both ends of the court. He's fouling a lot and not making a noticeable impact on the offensive side of the ball.

Ty seems like an all or nothing guy right now, which is to be expected from a freshman guard. I find myself consistently responding in two ways to his play: "Yes!" and "Why?!" That will improve with experience.

I thought Eric had a ton of good energy when he entered in the 1st half. Then he faded and I didn't see him the rest of the game.

                  Good for BWam.

In the postgame, Gregg spoke about how important it is that each of the younger guys got at least 8 minutes or more today. Each game experience will continue to speed up our internal game clocks. This team is nowhere close to where they will be in a couple of months. FVV needs to get back to 100%, the freshman need to continue to gain experience and be put in situations where they can be successful, CF needs to be able to hit some shots, and we need another productive player in the post.

I have no idea how next week will go.

Either Tekele and Darius were better than I realized, or Fred is better than I realized.

I hope off that Fred is the one who is better than I realized...because we can still have him back :)

I just don't see it right now. I have no doubt he'll improve throughout the season but to start him right now doesn't make sense to me.

And that's not to say McDuffie has been bad or anything.

Yes, we need a healthy FVV back. 2-All Americans are better than just 1, right? Cotton not only made big shots in games, he could hold stars like the Final Four Season we played Pittsburg and he held their star to very little on Offense and this was common. Carter was a solid rebounder. Speaking of rebounding, that should have been a great area for us today, but was not. Win #400 for our awesome Coach Gregg Marshall and I am very happy for him. Lots of games yet to play and we have the ideal Coach for the job. There was a time we wondered if he would be here along with Baker and FVV. We will be finer than a frog-hair!!! Go Shockers!!!!!!!

Underwhelming performance against a D2 team after a loss. Has Morris improved at all?

I'd rather have JRS in over Shamet. That name is becoming an expletive.

                            God Shamet! Not another turnover!
                            Shamet - 22 min, 3 assists, 1 turnover, 1 steal, 2 rebounds, 3-6 9pts

I'm just going to assume that I'm the one missing something here.

                              1. I thought Big E was good in the first half, TomBush was not. Then the reverse in half #2.

                              2. Our offense sucks, it looks like we are missing our point guard.

                              3. ZacB is a long way from being a lockdown defender.

                              4. Kelly was ok, as was EW.

                              5. Tyrone Taylor gets yanked immediately after a mistake. Not so the others.

                              6. Shaq may very well finish his career elsewhere. I thought he had turned the corner.

                              7. Coach shoulda got a T.

                              8. Grady is good, even with a lackluster game today.

                              9. Baker's 31 will hang in the rafters someday.

                              10. 2-1 in Orlando would mean that Fred is healthy, or Marshall is a helluva coach.

Maybe Shaq will get left home again and then make an All-MVC list again this year. This time, I hope we leave him at home for a game IN Wichita. That's probably the only way you can send a sterner message than the Drake situation last year :)
