You think the Utah game was probably WSU's best performance of the year. So do I.
You think WSU is playing much better and more consistent overall right now than in December. So do I.
We seem to agree on both.

I'm just trying to understand your point. If you were arguing that WSU played mediocre basketball and still won by 17, that would be one thing. I do not understand the relevance of the other December games being mediocre if even you admit that for one day, WSU was at its best.

The best WSU team we've seen all year went out and beat Utah by 17. What's the point of bringing up the other poor performances if the Utah game wasn't one of them?
I'm saying WSU is in better form now than back in Utah.

Take the WSU team at the Utah game and put them into the NCAA tournament, they don't string together enough good games to make a natty. Take the WSU team right now, and they're in form to win multiple games. The quality that the team performed during the Utah game was an aberration of the performances surrounding that game.

Hence why I'm saying the WSU team now is better than the Utah game, regardless of if it was the best performance against the best competition all year.

I'm talking about form, you've ignored that the last two replies.

I've literally said that I agree WSU is more consistent now, or in better "form" to use your term, in every single one of my responses to you. I'm not ignoring that at all. In fact, I've addressed that point in every single post.

Your first post never mentioned "form". You simply said the current Shockers are better than the Shox vs Utah. I'm not sure how I was supposed to know at that point that you were referring to the average over a given stretch and not merely to the Utah performance itself. If I missed picking up on something I should have picked up on, I'm sorry.

My disagreement was entirely around the fact I don't think WSU is better now, just more consistent. WSU is no better now than they were ON THAT DAY. They are just more likely to be that team night in and night out.

I don't think we even disagree on anything here. Just talking past each other I guess.

One last thought. If WSU and Utah had a rematch, I think Utah would play better than the first time. I see no reason to think WSU would play better, merely reason to think WSU would be reliable to play very well. Considering how good WSU was the first time, I think the rematch would be much closer due to a better Utah performance and a similar (if even that) WSU performance.

Utah would be more formidable for the simple fact they aren't facing us at the Koch.

They didn't the first time either.

Seriously- you owned this discussion. No need for further replies.

              • Rashard (not the turnover machine he was then), Shaq (no explanation necessary), Zach (More confident) & Connor (Did he even score in that game?) are all playing better now than they were then, on that day. The Aggies would probably agree with that.

I watched Utah handle The Trojans at their gym last week and was pretty impressed. If the big kid played good against us now, it'd be the first time he did.

                • Conner scored his first field goal as a shocker in that game. I remember because I got a live photo of it. Ha.

Rhetorical question, I'd assume, but he had zero since he was still recovering.

                      • Congratulations to KU on winning their 12th straight Big 12 championship. I know it's fashionable (on this board) to hate the Hawks, but that's damned impressive. UCLA has the record, 13 in a row, KU is right behind them.

Was any of UCLA titles shared? And did they play each other equally as KU won most of them playing north schedule avoiding the Texas and ATM twice back in the day?
