Could you please provide me with a single ranking system that only takes into account how teams played during the last week?
    It's not rocket science.

A ranking should be determined by overall body of work AND how the team is playing presently.

And for the most part, that's how the rankings work.

        • Watching the replay of the ending to the WF game was absurd. WF steals the ball with like 24 seconds left up 7 and then stupidly throws it away allowing Virginia to get the ball back and hit a 3 then after getting the ball WF guy had a clear path to the basket with 11 seconds left the Virginia guy barely scraps him for a foul otherwise he would have had a clear dunk then he misses both FT's and Virginia hits another 3 then WF with 4 seconds left is fouled and misses front FT so instead of missing 2nd FT on purpose and forcing Virginia to go full court in less than 4 seconds he makes 2nd FT allowing Virginia to throw a pass to half court setting up the winning 3.

WF missed so many FT's in the final 40 seconds.

I seen Marquette beat Butler in the NCAA tournament in similar fashion a few years ago because of checking the clock and allowing Marquette to set up a final play. They need to keep the players on the court and away from the coaches or how about get it right the first time and stop having so many reviews. Years ago we seen plenty of games without all the stops and reviews we are reviewing and adding tenths of seconds now back in the day you just played on. Too many games affected because of these stoppages.
I agree. In the final minute, if you want a review for time (not possession), you should be required to use a timeout. If you have no more timeouts available then there should be no review. I've thought this ever since Ohio St. vs. Arizona before we smoked La Salle.

On a similar thought, I've never understood why they are willing to review for less than 1 second, but they won't review for any scoring plays. In my opinion, a possible goaltend or shot clock violation would be a much more valuable review.

                    • Why is the reviewing of the time only at the end of the game? How many 1.3 second mishaps with the clock occur in the first 19 minutes of the half that don't get reviewed? If you added up all those previous clock mishaps Creighton would have had a lot more than 1.9 seconds on the clock and could have actually hit the shot in time.

Completely agree and that is why WSU is ranked ahead of Duke. The bodies of work are similar, Duke's might be slightly better, but currently Duke is struggling and WSU is winning.

It is also why KU was ranked higher than Indiana. The KU body of work was that much better than Indiana.

Seriously that CU would have gotten the shot on time if they add up all the clock mishaps through out the half? Yes.

Seriously that they should review all the clock stoppages through out the half? No.

Seriously that they should spend 10 minutes reviewing all the 0.4 seconds clock mishaps at the end of the half? No.

This logic is flawed. 1. Throughout the half, clock mishaps equally affect both teams. 2. Teams play identically if there is 12:04.4 on the clock as if there is 12:05.9 on the clock. You don't just gain extra time at the end of the game by adding a second in the middle of the half. As teams strategically wear the clock down at the end of the game, that's when it becomes important.

Your logic is way too logical for this conversation.
