Not that KenPom is the end all be all, but for reference UNLV is ranked 72, and only Indiana (at number 25) is in the Top 30 of the teams they have played. They have also yet to play a true road game. So it isn't completely indefensible to not have them ranked.

Its a mad world...
I don't know WHAT we're gonna do Wednesday night. I just hope our team can stay within 20 and avoid wanting to hang it up altogether for the season. After all, UNLV's undefeated team would have beaten ANY Shocker team EVER by that margin. We are hosed. I'm ready to forfeit.Kung Wu say, man who read woman like book, prefer braille!

But I believe we are a top 25 team.
Without Shamet/Grady we're still a top 15 team.
Without FVV we might be a top 100 team.
It'll be a while until we bump back into the top 25 given the losses, though, but it'll happen.Originally posted by BleacherReportFred VanVleet on Shockers' 3-Pt Shooting Confidence -- ' Honestly, I just tell these guys to let their nuts hang.'

I bet less than 10% of voters give WSU a top 25 vote this week. Need one more game to "prove" that Orlando should be forgotten.
With a win @ 8-2 Seton Hall, I bet at least half of the voters put WSU on their ballot next Monday.
Oh, and if the Shox do win a few more in a row and get into the polls, in December, with 4 losses, I welcome the whining we will hear from goobers who don't know much of anything. It will be glorious.

Probably the only downside to not having a mid-week game this week is not having the opportunity to more quickly build the Win column on the record. Even with 2-3 straight good/great wins, I think it will take a bit to overcome the 4 losses.
Still, I think the week off is a great thing for this team right now, in the big picture. Get healthier. Get in some great practices without worrying about school, and knowing what the rotation and roles are actually starting to look like. Have a couple days to gameplan for a very tough road game.
Do work errbody.

I think we'll be back in the Top 25 in the January 4 edition of both polls but would love to be proven wrong if we can reappear sooner.
