  • Anyone here planning on going to the games @ Illinois State and @ SIU?? I'm debating....

    • SIU is the only weekend game within a days drive of Atlanta (6 1/2 hours). Plan to make the trip with my wife, daughter and son. Where is a good place to stay.

Wouldn't Orlando be closer for you than SIU?? You'd get to see better games in Orlando than Carbondale that's for sure.

        • Yes it would be and would have free lodging. But have family obligations during Thanksgiving holiday in Atlanta.

What's even worse, I was in West Virginia during the F4. My son's wife is from Huntington and I had to take my wife there for my daughter-in-law baby shower.

          • Got my tickets for STL today...if anyone wants to go, there are lower bowl seats showing available in section 117, but if you try to order them online, you can't. Call ticketmaster directly and they should be available. I did that today and got a seat 8 rows from the floor by the bench.

            • So where is everyone making road trips to?? As of right now I'm heading to STL, Evansville, and ISUB.... it would be nice to meet some of the folks off of here at the games. I met Shurtz at Arch Madness last year when he heard me talking about Shockernet to the gentleman next to me....

Doc's wife chuckled when SNers treated Doc with such reverence upon meeting him at the Final Four. She said that it was like they met a celebrity...which isn't completely off. The man is a living legend.

                • Well shoot, I mean I TOLD you we were going a month before, I don't see what the big deal was.

Seriously though, my wife chuckles at a lot of things about me. I'm a fan like everyone else and I enjoy meeting Shocker fans as well.

                  • So let me get this straight... The season begins in two weeks? Shocker madness, check.

We will still get to see a lot of players against Hawaii Pacific even though we had to miss some guys Thursday. Isn't Peyton Allen the only guy who can't play in the exhibition? Or Frankamp also off the table?

I googled Hawaii pacific and found out Sarah Palin went there for like one semester, so yeah, this game is a pretty big deal. :)

Peyton has to sit out every game this year. Conner has to sit out until the end of the first semester (December 12). Everyone else is available to play currently. This assumes no injuries, voluntary red-shirts, ineligibilities, or disciplinary actions.

Even for an exhibition against a non d-1?

Not sure of the current rule. Transfers are able to participate in preseason, over seas exhibitions. Participating in an exhibition does not count against a medical or voluntary redshirt, but I thought that transfer red-shirts were prohibited from these games. Perhaps someone can clarify.

I think you are right. I was just wondering. It would be nice to get to see Frankamp play and how he fits in, but I do think we will be waiting till the 12th. Although that still isn't that far off either.

                              • Everyone, regardless of redshirt possibilities, other than Allen and Frankamp, is allowed to play against Hawaii.
