General Discussion: Thoughts on Cheick Diallo vs Anton Grady?

In recent years Self has had Cliff Alexander ineligible for part of the year and had Ben McLemore and Jamari Traylor both ruled ineligible for an entire season. That's just from within the past 4 years (and I don't know if that is a complete list).

In addition, Self's national championship team featured Darrell Arthur who was found to have only gotten through the NCAA clearing house because of a fraudulent transcript (yet in spite of his high school having to vacate their wins and the Memphis team they faced having to vacate their wins for a similar offense, KU is given no punishment), and in 2010 Josh Selby had to sit out 9 games for impermissible benefits (and that could easily have been a full year ineligibility case, yet Self signed him anyway).

There may be more, but suffice to say, Self has a pretty long track record of bringing in guys that either are ruled ineligible or easily could be ruled ineligible.

Well let's be fair here, and balanced. It seems like you're trying to paint Self in the most negative light possible. Do you have an axe to grind or something? Let's not pretend that Marshall isn't willing to get his hands dirty. To wit:

* Clevin Hannah was suspended for a very, very serious NCAA infraction.
* Very, very serious NCAA rules were blatantly disregarded in recruitment of Peyton Allen.

There may be more, but suffice to say, Marshall is equally guilty, therefore nobody should be held accountable. We'll call it a push.

I don't understand the attempt to compare the Diallo situation to the Grady situation. It seems difficult to find two more disparate examples of basketball commitments. I had to Google (TM) Diallo to find out who he was.

Why does a KU recruit who may not get past the NCAA clearinghouse get brought up in this Forum?

If I want to read about KU, I'll log in to phog.net. Attempting to compare a potential non-qualifier to a graduated 5th-year player appears to be just a way to bring KU into a discussion on the weakest possible premise.

I know we've got scoreboard on KU, but we don't need to make threads just for the purpose of discussing KU BB. We certainly don't need to trash KU on our board. Our team did that to them on the court. There's nothing more that needs to be said about KU.
