Very true. I was impressed by him as well. And i was also surprised they didn't try to isolate Tarc on the block a little more. He basically became a garbage man.
You miss 100% of the shots you don't take....

.....but, statistically speaking, you miss 99% of the shots you do take.

    • @DShulman_ESPN: The result won't make a big splash nationally but Wich St's Ron Baker played his tail off here. The best of the 7 college players on team

I agree. Ron was the BEST college player in my opinion, which didn't surprise me. I was shocked at how good Prince was. I don't think Tarc was nearly as effective trying to post up as he was when he was rebounding and getting put backs or as a dunker on open lane passes.

But that aside, Bobby Brown volunteered to play and helped us get only our 2nd medal in the history of the Pan Am games. There is absolutely no reason for members here to be trashing him on his twitter, etc. It is just asinine. Leave the guy alone. I'm not saying I enjoyed how he played, but still he was a volunteer, and even if he wasn't, there is no reason for anyone to berate him publicly on his twitter or something to that respect. Make all the comments you want on this board, but anything more directly communicative to him is way to over the top.
Your IQ that has been demonstrated over the last 72 hours has been quite low, sadly low I might add.

It's pretty obvious when watching the Bobby Show that has true intentions were "me, me, me, look at me". So saying that he "volunteered for his country" is crap to the crapth power. He of course was going to take full advantage of national tv exposure and try to use the games as his ticket to NBA scout services. His play sucked ass. I have little respect for the guy that was blatantly ignoring the best and clearly highest basketball-edcucated player on the basketball floor. Piss and moan all you want about the "it's only a game" mantra. If it was only a game, then maybe Bobby should have acknowledged the fact that other people besides him and his camera time existed on the basketball floor. A fan saying that Bobby shouldn't have been on the team over FVV is not over-the-top and really a good dosage of reality Bobby needs to hear as it clearly has never been told to him.

            • After watching maybe 30% of the games, and reading maybe 50% of the comments about them I am still confused as to how everyone is saying Bobby Brown was being a ball hog? He clearly shared with the other team.....often. I did not see the medal rounds, but the first two games were bad basketball...

I only saw this much in my notifications...I was coming here to say you should probably watch the rest of the games before deciding. Please forgive me, but for a moment, I almost thought you were Johnson County resident before I saw the rest of your comment. :)

                • To me, I think the calling out of Bobby Brown on his personal twitter account was a little lowbrow. While we have all at least thought (and many expressed) their thoughts on 'Bobby the Ballhog', calling him out on his personal twitter account accomplishes very little except maybe to show one's @$$. I would imagine that Bobby the Ballhog cares very little about what random Shocker fans think, anyone with even a little conscience and desire to succeed would have played more within the team format than Bobby the Ballhog.

Put another way, if he doesn't care about making his team more successful, why would he give a crap about how any of us feel. And I'm sure the people who's opinions count the most to Bobby the Ballhog, namely NBA scouts, undoubtedly feel the same way that we do. I'd say that his chances of an NBA career are about zero right now (unless you count the developmental league).

I don't like Bobby Brown the player. He may be a nice guy off the court. I have no way of knowing. That being said, I agree about the twitter bashing on his own account. Then again, there are MANY things I don't agree with in the twittersphere.

                    • What I don't get is how ShockFever constantly gets a pass on here. He has berated a large % of the posters here and his language and grammar are atrocious. We have had posters banned for way less than this guy gets away with on the board. Frankly his act is very old and I have him for the most part on personal ignore. Personally, I believe he adds no value and his constant personal attacks go beyond "good fun". Time for the guy to get ran out of here in my opinion.

On ignore, but a post devoted entirely to me in a basketball thread.

                        Mission accomplished.

I would like you to point out all of my atrocious grammar miscues. I'm curious to see how bad I am doing.

Good point, Shockda. I said Brown was thin-skinned for the way he handled the Twitter harassment, and I think he was -- best just to ignore that kind of foolishness. But I agree with you that harassing someone on his own Twitter account is over the line, and it should not have happened no matter how angry someone was about his play. This is just one of the many reasons I don't have a Twitter account, have never retweeted (actually, I don't know if I even can, and don't care enough to find out), and don't anticipate that I'll ever do any of the foregoing (as we lawyers would say).
