Game Thread: Ron Baker (USA) vs Venezuela

We've never looked that hard at Baker's D. Cotton got a lot of deserved run on D. FVV's D is awesome.
Baker flat out shut down the guy who had been instrumental in Venezuela building their half-time lead. I thought Baker was easily the best, if not the only, USA player on D.The future's so bright - I gotta wear shades.
We like to cut down nets and get sized for championship rings.

They both have very good all around games. Smooth silly shot, play hard nosed D, and they both are combo guards.

Ron needs to keep working on his ball handling. He creates the majority of his scoring opportunities via reading defenses/hustle/smarts (off ball). Being able to hit a 15-20 ft shot off the dribble is paramount for him to reach the next level.

Here are the stats for Team USA. The "FD" on the right-hand column is "Fouls Drawn." I had to look that up.
Since the play-by-play did not include substitution times, I cannot do the +/-.

Remember when Nancy Pelosi said about Obamacare:
"We have to pass it, to find out what's in it".
A physician called into a radio show and said:
"That's the definition of a stool sample."

Ron isn't getting the ball because he has had the benefit of having FVV dish him the ball at extremely tight angles. Trimble won't feed the rock to Baker on those tight angles, because when he tries it he gets picked off. Trimble is thinking about Baker, "Get open dude!" While Baker is thinking, "Geez, dude, I've got my man beat and I'm wide open -- GIMME THE BALL before he closes me down!"
The point is, comparing Trimble to FVV isn't fair. One is mortal.Kung Wu say, man who read woman like book, prefer braille!
