Duke is No. 1 in the Ridiculously Early Preseason Top 25 (and one)
And the love is still there.
26. WICHITA STATE
Notable players definitely gone: Fred VanVleet, Ron Baker, Evan Wessel, Anton Grady, Tom Wamukota
Others expected to leave: N/A
Notable players we expect to return: Markis McDuffie, Ty Taylor, Shaquille Morris, Conner Frankamp, Landry Shamet, Zach Brown, Rashard Kelly, Rauno Nurger,
Others we expect to join the roster: Darrlyn Willis, C.J. Keyser, Daishon Smith
Why the Shockers are ranked here: This is basically an #InGreggMarshallWeTrust ranking. In other words, we're just going to assume Wichita State will be good again because, you know, Wichita State will probably be good again.

"WSU seniors draw massive crowd for autograph signing" - KAKE News
"...Lines wrapped around the building at Tad's Locker Room West, where the group of Shocker seniors, including Anton Grady and Tom "Bush" Wamukota, signed autographs for nearly three hours. Some fans stood in line since 11:00 am in order to be the first in line when doors opened at 5:00 pm. When the two-hour signing session was supposed to come to a close at 7:00 pm, the group of seniors decided to stay an extra hour to accommodate the massive turnout. ..."

Ranking all 67 games of the 2016 NCAA Tournament
Talking about a season that starts in seven months is cool and all, but the grand finale to 2015-16 that we were all treated to was so fulfilling that it deserves one final look.
Shocks pull their weight in this list. My favorite part;
This game was actually tied at halftime, and then March Gregg Marshall did what he tends to do, while March Kevin Stallings did the same.“Losers Average Losers.” ― Paul Tudor Jones

"Hank Iba decided he wouldn't play my team anymore. He told me that if he tried to get his team ready to play me, it would upset his team the rest of the season." Gene Johnson, WU Basketball coach, 1928-1933.

Which mid-major teams have the rosiest 2016-17 outlooks?
Several power programs will be impacted by NBA draft decisions, but mid-major teams' outlooks are easiest to peg. Which squads will be the strongest in 2016-17?
5. Wichita State Shockers
Life after Fred VanVleet and Ron Baker won't be easy in Wichita (Evan Wessel is gone as well), but Gregg Marshall at least brings back a young nucleus that includes Zach Brown, Shaquille Morris, Markis McDuffie, Rashard Kelly and Conner Frankamp. I'm of the opinion that Marshall could take you, me and three Division I players chosen at random and transform us into an excellent defense, so I have few worries about WSU on that side of the ball next season. The Shockers' fortunes will instead depend on how well they replace VanVleet's and Baker's scoring.
