I just saw this on the Indiana State forums. Kind of insane the difference in ticket pricing. Obviously one provides a MUCH better product, but they really have no reason to not sell out at those prices no matter how bad their team is. I mean courtside for 335 + 400 donation is a steal.

Edit: And $65 total for a season ticket anywhere? That's less than $5.00 per game. I'd pay that just to get to go to the WSU game."You Don't Have to Play a Perfect Game. Your Best is Good Enough."

Originally posted by ArtVandalay View PostI think these numbers are a little misleading. Their donation is a per seat requirement. The Premium Chair back seats at Koch show a minimum SASO of $3,340, but that entitles you to up to 4 seats. So, the seats are $355+$835 SASO or $79/game. Still more than $335+$400 or $49 (assuming 15 home games for each), but not as much as first glance. Now, we all know $3,340 is the minimum and that realistically there are much higher donations being thrown out there to get some of the best seats, but so to is the $400 figure for ISU a minimum. I'm sure if you wanted courtside, you'd probably be paying more than the $400 minimum."You Don't Have to Play a Perfect Game. Your Best is Good Enough."

That $760 would not include the SASO mandatory donation, which would be another $390 for the seats he described in CKA. Cheapest season ticket in CKA after the most recent price hike is now essentially $600 per seat, for a spot in the last 7 rows, and most likely behind a pole, last row, or behind the baskets, if entering the WSU ticket market in the past 5 years or so. Also, a reasonable number of people in each respective SASO level are paying more than the minimum, in order to amass points for a better spot in that same SASO section.
The only season ticket holders paying SASO minimum of $3,340 for the 3 courtside sections on each side below the entry tunnels are long time WSU supporters (with lots of priority points). Anybody sitting down there that has come along during the Marshall tenure is most certainly paying more - sometimes in multiples of the minimum. Evidence of such is what can only be described as a dedicated "show me the money" page on goshockers.com basically alluding to this fact:
And there's this:
Ask Russell Wilkins, who runs ticket operations at Wichita State, why he didn't raise ticket prices after the Shockers made the Final Four last season and you'll get an answer you won't believe.
And winning has increased the frequency of some pleasant surprises. Like the fan who had never been on the program's radar and asked what it would cost to get four of the best season tickets in the house. He had them, $60,000 later.Last edited by SHOCKvalue; August 12, 2015, 02:07 PM.
