I would be very disappointed if people were allowed to transfer season tickets from one to another with the latter never having been a SASO member before. Most of us have earned a right to our seating positions and transfers seem like it would be be unfair. Now if you buy someone's tickets and pay whatever the deem a fair price, that's another matter.

There are a good number of us long-time fans who have "paid our dues" long before Marshall or even Turgeon came into the program. That is how we who aren't big-money donors get to sit lower than row 20.

I understand that money talks, I would just hope the amount is significant to simply buy in.

I just hate to see all of the younger generation, the future torch-bearers, turned away like this...sigh. I guess we will all have to become KSU fans since they are the only tickets readily available.

That doesn't sound right. I would think that would be just about the only transfer allowed (maybe some high-end corporate stuff too). I would think the ticket office would allow me to transfer to immediate family but not neighbors/friends/etc.

It may not sound right, but I'm 99% sure that's the way it is. Kind of sad that families that have been going for decades may end up having their child/children start from square one. They do not recognize LFPs either. I don't know how corporates are handled.

A lot of this may be coming to a head given the large number of long time season ticket holders and donors. Many of those long time supporters and their families may not have the wherefore all for their children to continue as Shocker supporters or, at least, hold on to the seats they have due to their parents long time support. The parents "points" and long time support die when they die.

I'm sure there are others here who know much more than I about all this and probably know some methods of lessen the blow to the next generation.

It's been a few years, but I had a friend who's parents had season tickets. When the last one died, he was given the option to pick up the seats. Now, his SASO donation for those seats was higher than what his parents were paying because if their points, but he was given the option. Now, this was fiveish years ago and the waiting line was non existent

I'm kind of curious about all of this stuff. My wife and I have looked into buying season tickets for several years, but haven't done it for various reasons. Would I be correct in my understanding that regardless of how big of a SASO donation we were able to make, there's a good chance we would not be able to buy tickets anyway? I understand the different levels of donations and priority points, but is it correct that we could make a sizable donation (whatever may be considered sizable), then tickets are not available, so all we've really done is accumulated some priority points for the next year?

FWIW, I don't necessarily think this is wrong if it is the case. I just want to make sure I understand correctly.

If you could no longer attend games because of health or other reason, couldn't you let your son or daughter use your season tickets? Or do the tickets specify a particular person? If you could do that, you wouldn't need to transfer them.

Not sure I would guesstimate anywhere near that high. I know someone who was able to get 2 tickets (granted partial view seats) starting last season without any additional SASO donation. I know one person on the new grad waiting list which would indicate he would be paying a discounted SASO Donation. I assume most other people on the list are probably in similar situations (new grads with small initial donations).

The tickets themselves do not specify a particular person. If you have tickets in your name and for whatever reason you could not or chose not to attend the games, you can let anyone use those tickets (free or for a charge) as they are your tickets. You could even buy them the next year and do the same. The danger of this is if the original purchaser dies, then the person who was using the tickets would only be able to do so for the remainder of that year. The user could not purchase those same seats the next year as they would go to the next person on the waiting list. If you are purchasing tickets for the sole purpose of resale, I would beware. WSU would take a very dim view of this practice. If you knew someone who had two tickets but was not planning on renewing, you could pay them the SASO and the ticket purchase price and have them give you the tickets. The downer of this is that the guy actually sending the money into SASO (the original purchaser) is the one that is going to get the tax credit and the SASO points, not you.

Yes, I believe you do have an option to get the seats if you have the dollars to make up for 20-30+ years of building points. Otherwise, you start at the beginning.
