This may have been answered. I only had time to skim. If so I appologize.

You CAN transfer tickets to an immediate family member. I verified this recently. You can't transfer SASO points. But the seats themselves you can. I was told it could be done anytime. I will take over tickets from my father someday. I already pay SASO on his behalf.

My parents tickets were passed down to me a couple of years ago. They have had season tix since 1965. My dad passed away in 2000, so I attended with my mom. Her health has been suffering over the past few years and so our family, with my mom leading the way, wanted the tix to stay in the family. Mom and I talked to the ticket office and they allowed the transfer, but not the accumulation of SASO points. I had to start over in that regard.

For how many years now have there been a waiting list to get season tickets?

my trust owns my tickets so if I were to pass away, my trustee could continue to purchase tickets.

I believe this will work until such time as they do a "re-seating". We were in a similar situation where my dad and mom, due to age, would not be going as often in the future and we wanted to "transfer" their tickets to me and I'd pick up the SASO. We were told that they probably would be doing a "re-seating" soon (the RRC) and we would most likely lose "our great seats" for much lesser ones due to the priority point loss. Fearful of another re-seating, we left SASO in their name. That was probably a mistake as I could have built up a pretty good number of points to still get good seats now.

If you're in this type of situation, you might want to start some sort of donating now for yourself to build points (parents keep seats in their name and continue donating to not drop in ranking), buy a season ticket for each of the other ticketed sports (builds points faster than donated $s) in your name, then wait until after a re-seating to change the seats into your name. By the time the next re-seating happens, if it does, you may be in pretty good shape.

Did you buy tickets and make SASO donations through the trust from the beginning or, if not, did you lose your prior points upon using the trust? For most people, don't trusts usually end at the death of both spouses (speaking of seniors here)?

Partially kidding. I was a bit surprised to hear about the transfer option as well.
Agreed, I'm on the waiting list and made an SASO donation (though probably not near big enough) but doubt I'll get tickets. Unfortunately since I graduated college just recently, I really haven't been able to build up 30 years worth of SASO points to get priority in tickets.

It remains to be seen how many on here would have continued to purchase tickets from 1990-2000. Many current ticket holders found other ways to spend their money.

Have you been on the waiting list previously, or is this the first time you've been on it? I'm wondering if there's any way to find out how long the waiting list is, and at what levels.

I understand the point you were trying to make, but please don't imply that those who drop season tickets aren't faithful fans. Some of them are probably being extremely wise and showing impressive financial discipline to give up something they love because their budget simply can no longer afford it. I commend those people who are in that situation.

For the record, I did not drop my tickets, but I know of others who did.

I agree. Its getting close to me not being able to afford them. Doesn't mean I am not faithful. I live and breathe this team during the season. I follow all the recruiting news. Just fincances are finances. I will be keeping them this year but if we have another decent sized increase in price I will probably be out.

First time, Its the first year I've felt comfortable enough to pay for the Season Tickets, let alone the SASO donation.

I agree 100%. I also plan to renew my season tickets, but to imply that someone dropping their season tickets because of financial considerations as not faithful Shocker fans is harsh. Unfortunately, bad things happen such as unemployments, large medical bills, etc. Some people that have season tickets are on more limited budgets than others and have less disposable income. Actually those fans are quite faithful because they are making some pretty large personal sacrifices to have season tickets.

I think what @fansince80s: meant is that the price increases will begin to cause faithful fans to let go of their seats. He and I have shared season tickets since 2003, and recently added a third person to the group. This latest increase has us thinking we may have to add a fourth or give them up.
